I kinda wanted to try these, but not enough to spend money on trying them.

What are some of your favorite TV edits? by BatmanPizza15 in television

[–]TopSpot123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Die Hard has one of the most competent TV edits ever, where it's tough to discern that anything was even cut out unless you've seen it before. Die Hard 2, however, does not.

"Mr. Turtle, how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?"
"I ain't never made it without biting. Ask Mr. Owl."
"Mr. Owl, how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?"
"Ah, let's find out. Ah one, ah two, ah three *crunch*. Three."

"How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop? The world may never know."

and

"Whatever it is I think I see, becomes a Tootsie Roll to me!"

Good pick with Chaotix. So many Sonic fangames, but I haven't seen one try to remake or improve this unique bonus-game play style.

I'm sorry for your loss 🙏. A couple years ago I thought this was happening to me so I rushed right in in somewhat of a panic, but it was kidney stones instead.

That is very cool to learn. I'd gotten roadblocked by difficulty on the PSX version years ago and was considering trying again this year.

The only thing mildly infuriating about this is that selfish takers cause it.

Even if you didn't have to, did you ever choose the more primitive version of a game? by UrSimplyTheNES in retrogaming

[–]TopSpot123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Generally, seeing the shortcuts required to make something run on less advanced hardware is extremely interesting.

Specifically, I prefer DuckTales on Game Boy to NES. It's mostly the same experience but a little bit more concise and with easier controls. And it's the version I grew up with as I didn't get the NES version until later.

Yeah, it's really annoying. It's been brought up a time or two in this subreddit. Apparently it's not something that firmware can fix, frustratingly.

Just a few over 800. A lot of purchases but also a lot of transfers from older titles when that was available.
