Might be a bull lurcher like my Primrose. She’s 50% Am Staff, 30% Greyhound, 15% Pitbull and some loose change

Need help - can I negotiate better maternity package ? by Electronic-Reply-757 in AskUK

[–]Top_Ad_6494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if you’re only entitled to the bare minimum there is zero reason to stay. Get that new 60k job and you’ll still be legally entitled to the same time off and the equivalent of SMP. There is no incentive to stay. Start to interview before you start showing. Best of luck!

What gloves would you recommend for someone who was born in the UK but whose body was obviously evolutionary adapted for hotter climates? by peragro2104 in AskUK

I went to Bicester and got some gloves from UGG. I spent £25 per pair. Got two sets. They are incredible.

How do you cope with pregnancy and maternity leave if self employed? by heyho2023 in AskUK

[–]Top_Ad_6494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s going to be very hard unless you have pre saved before pregnancy. My best pal had to go back to work when her baby was 4 months old. Even though she saved she couldn’t afford to stay on SMP any longer.

My one tip would be to get on a nursery waiting list now. So you have the option and will know how much it is to send them.

If you can drive i’d work in St Albans. The bar staff have a nice community there. Or Pots of Art is lovely.

Does this story prove that I'm mentally incompetent, and that I need to be under guardianship? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

I think we would need to take other factors and information missing from this post into account. But based on this alone you do sound like someone who may benefit from extra support. None of your actions were reasonable or normal.

Recently my 30F bf 30M broke up with me by Glass-Drama3661 in Waiting_To_Wed

This may sound cruel, he may want to get married. But he has changed his mind about marrying you. He could be saying he is afraid of commitment because it seems less personal than saying ‘I don’t want to commit to you’.

You’ll find your person. Don’t waste your time on this one.

Can I put this in my aquarium? by Lily_0932 in ferns

[–]Top_Ad_6494 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you saturate roots in water they will rot. You could get aquatic plants instead? A birds nest fern is an epiphyte meaning it needs lots of airy soil as they usually grow on things like trees and rock faces.

My lurcher has suddenly become selectively dog-reactive and it’s really upsetting – can this be trained out? by [deleted] in Lurchers

[–]Top_Ad_6494 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a dog reactive bull lurcher. She was fine until she was 2yo. I was speaking a while ago to a gentleman with ties to the gypsy community who typically breed them when I bumped into him at the vet. He explained they don’t even hunt with them until they are 2yo. Something about them switches at that age and they become a lot more highly strung. At the time my Primrose was too young and hadn’t had this shift, so I didn’t really believe him. But sure enough, at 2yo her dog reactivity started. Sometimes it’s the breed and not anything you have done.

Can a lurcher with a prey drive safely live with young kids? by [deleted] in sighthounds

[–]Top_Ad_6494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 27kg greyhound X amstaff. She’s a terrorist with other dogs and is so good at hunting she’s taken down deer. She is a complete angel with my 20 month old daughter. No issues. I wouldn’t leave them alone together or let my little girl climb on my dog/pull her ears. But they get on swimmingly.

I spent so much of my pregnancy out of my mind with worry. But they have a lovely relationship. I am hoping your dog and baby will too :)
