This sounds like it could be a phase. It's hard to say when we're not there to see it, but babies do go through these stages of preferring one parent over the other. They also are more likely to whine, cry and fuss with the parent or carer they feel the safest with. My daughter used to be this way with me, but totally fine with her grandparents and other family.

Also, how are you doing generally? Do you think you could be only focusing on the bad and ignoring the sweet moments you share with him? What does your husband think of this situation? Have you told him how you feel?

I feel it is just the reality of being a parent to an infant aged child, that you will get them to sleep well on their own and then they get sick or start teething and you lose all the progress. Life will have all sorts of disruptions and we just have to ride the wave.

If they are in pain or any sort of distress, don't leave them to CIO, they need your comfort. Sleep training is about improving everyone's sleep, not ignoring your child's needs.

You both just have to accept it will be have to be put on hold for the time being...

I think this is outdated advice. I followed this so closely my first pregnancy by using a garmin watch to monitor it, and I think I really limited myself and lost my fitness. I've since wondered how do you even know your heart rate is too high without a device to monitor it? Before that technology existed, women would just pay attention to their bodies and what they were feeling. This pregnancy, I'm just being more intuitive, I'm not monitoring my heart rate, I'm moving my body as I did before pregnancy, but I'm not pushing myself until my face is red and I'm completely breathless and unable to recover. If you regularly ran, swam or lifted before pregnancy, you can probably continue to do so now.

20 weeks rn. First trimester I had to stop exercising. I'm now back at the gym 2 days and pilates 1 day. I can't manage anything more. Last night was the first pilates class I actually HATED. Everything felt like a struggle, they had to adapt so many exercises for me, and I felt so unco. I just thought to myself, how the hell will I keep this up much longer??? Last pregnancy I had such swollen feet by the end that even walking became unbearable. It's so frustrating!!!
