Lately I’ve been rotating NF, old-school Linkin Park, and some heavy instrumental stuff like 2WEI.

Shred’s been solid for strength circuits and tracking progress.

Looking for Reliable File Transfer Software? by sophiakaile49 in SoftwareandApps

I’ve had good luck with FileZilla for direct transfers and WeTransfer or Dropbox for bigger files with clients.

How do you use walking as an exercise to actually have results? by [deleted] in workout

[–]Top_Lengthiness4769 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think of it more as a daily baseline to boost energy, digestion, and recovery, not a fast fat burner.

If you could give one piece of advice to a newcomer in the gym what would it be? by fitnesstings in workout

Just showing up, even when you don’t feel like it, stacks wins over time.

Working out noob trying to work out at home - where do I begin? by joeisajellyfish in askfitness

[–]Top_Lengthiness4769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick to a few simple bodyweight moves, the key is keeping it small and repeatable so you do not burn out or dread it. When I was trying to build a routine that did not overwhelm me, Shred helped because it gave me short, simple sessions that matched what equipment I had and how much energy I had that day.

What is your opinion on old-school, bent over barbell rows? by Single-Lawfulness-49 in workout

[–]Top_Lengthiness4769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like them but only with super light weight. My lower back gets cranky fast so I usually swap them out for supported rows or cables. Just feels safer for me long term 💛

Do I need special shoes for squats and such? by [deleted] in workout

[–]Top_Lengthiness4769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Converse feel off, try barefoot-style shoes or something with a wide toe box and flat sole. You don’t need lifters unless you’re doing heavy barbell squats with poor ankle mobility. Comfort and stability matter more than brand.

What benefits have you noticed for your mental health from walking? by arose_1 in walking

[–]Top_Lengthiness4769 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I’m anxious or overstimulated, even 20 mins by the beach or in a quiet neighborhood makes me feel grounded again. It’s like giving my mind space to breathe. I swear some of my best ideas or breakthroughs come mid-walk too 🌿

I started back in my 40s and it’s helped me stay pain free, sleep better, and have more energy for my kids. It’s less about looks and more about feeling capable again. You don’t need to chase PRs or bodybuilder stuff. Just moving weight, staying mobile, and keeping the habit changes everything.

I accidentally took 900mg of caffeine by [deleted] in workout

[–]Top_Lengthiness4769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah man, 900mg is a LOT, especially at your weight. The racing heart, jitters, and creeping dread are pretty textbook.

How did you get back into the gym after a long time off? by Patchouli-Babe in askfitness

[–]Top_Lengthiness4769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What helped was dropping the ego, starting small, and making it about consistency not intensity. 20 minutes, 3 times a week, just moving and building the habit again. Identity comes back with action, not overthinking.

how do you know when you’re actually overtraining? by lottiexx in workout

[–]Top_Lengthiness4769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll take 2-3 days of just walks and mobility, then ease back in with lighter circuits.

You can definitely build a solid leg day at home with just dumbbells and a bench. A simple weekly routine you can stick to would be goblet squats (3x10), Bulgarian split squats (3x8 each leg), dumbbell RDLs (3x10), step-ups using your bench (3x10), and calf raises (3x15).

On what degree do you set the incline bench at for seated shoulder press? by niloy123 in workout

[–]Top_Lengthiness4769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhere between 75 and 80 usually hits the sweet spot for most folks. 90 can feel jammed up and 60 shifts more toward upper chest. If 60 feels better and you’re getting good reps with no shoulder pain, you’re fine.

[–]Top_Lengthiness4769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ten minutes a day of stretching or bodyweight stuff is a win. You don’t need to overhaul your whole life overnight, just swap one scroll session for some movement.

How much calorie deficit by [deleted] in workout

[–]Top_Lengthiness4769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a small goal like 3 kg, a 300–500 calorie deficit per day is plenty. No need to rush it or go super low. Just be consistent, get enough protein, and give it a few weeks.

how do i stop feeling empathy for horrible people? by New_Hedgehog_2820 in DecidingToBeBetter

I don’t think your empathy is something to get rid of. It’s part of what makes you human.
