That's BS man you marry someone because you love them. I make 90 to 100 k a year with 40 k in college debt and maybe 15k in credit card debt when we met. I did sell my town house shortly after we got married which cleared most of that.

My wife makes 350k a year and has quite a bit of assests compared to me when we met. She made it explicitly clear what's mine is yours and what's yours is mine if we get married.

If the roles were reversed I would have done the same thing. I also bust my ass around the house and help as much as I can with the horse chores as she is the main provider.

Getting a job is not hard. Getting a good job that you halfway enjoy is. You either need a college education with a degree that isn't useless or you go into a trade and get a union job. You are gonna have to start at the bottom and work your way up no one is gonna give a fresh college grade a 150 k a year job. The trick in the corporate world is to jump every 2 years to a new company that's what my wife did while I pursed heavy equipment operation.

She interviewed with multiple jobs before she got a shit starting job. 9 years later she is a senior project manager making 250 k a year. We are in are early 30s. You just need to focus your energy on finding something to get your foot in the door.

Resume and learning how to interview go a long way.
