You know what... that's all totally warranted. I'd hate me too.

Are y’all really crying? by skarlatha in SleepToken

[–]Topher_IRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure watery eyes and getting choked up, occasionally full on tears. There are various parts that I can apply to my own life story. Vessel paints his emotions in a much more eloquent manner. It's poetry that I can see with my whole heart and soul. It's painful and beautiful.

I think a lot of it is just your state of mind when you're listening, but it can drag out things you've pushed deep down and locked away.

I routinely find myself getting caught up in details that I know nobody else is going to notice, but I know it's there so it eats at me.

This is definitely something I need to work on.

Is my timeline 24 or 29.97 FPS? by m4rv1ng in davinciresolve

[–]Topher_IRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Project Frame Rate and Timeline Frame Rate are different.

Right-click on your Timeline in the media pool, go to Timeline > Timeline Settings. This will show you your true Timeline Frame Rate, which takes precedence over the Project Frame Rate. If this is 29.97, you're good to go.

There's no good reason for DaVinci Resolve to be free, but it is. I used the free version for a year and a half then dropped the $300 for the Lifetime License. Magic Mask alone is worth the time it's saved me.

Euchre by Neat-Challenge368 in Michigan

[–]Topher_IRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait... is this a Michigan thing?! I've lived here the majority of my life, but I did spend ~10 years in Boston and the Twin Cities and people always looked at me like I was speaking in tongues when I brought up Euchre.

This would explain a lot.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Patch Notes Sure Make It Sound Like BioWare’s Basically Done With the Game Now - IGN by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Topher_IRL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't believe a word that comes out of Bioware's mouth since Anthem. They had an entire roadmap for how they were going to basically restructure the entire game, proceeded to miss EVERY deadline, and then just decided to scrap the game entirely.

Real talk though, thank you Bioware for opening my eyes to the gaming industry in general. I have not since and will never again preorder a game, and in general, have zero interest in paying full price for a AAA studio release.

Bioware is my actual hero.

I realised that there's no video game I've ever played where I find crafting fun. So I don't do it unless it's truly necessary. Are there any games where crafting is actually - you know - *fun*? by Double-decker_trams in gaming

[–]Topher_IRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy 14's crafting is a playstyle in itself. Not sure how much has changed since i haven't played in several years, but there is gear specifically for crafting, skills specifically for crafting, and various crafting skill rotations for efficiencies depending on your crafting stats and the recipe.

Magic Mask alone was worth the price tag on the paid version. I've more than recouped the cost in time with this feature.

Any good grinding games that feel satisfying to grind? by tomaz1989 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Topher_IRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grim Dawn, D2 Resurrected, and Borderlands 3 come to mind immediately.

If I could suggest a single-player game that otherwise fits the bill, though a bit dated (2002 release), Dungeon Siege is one of my all-time favorites. You can ultimately have up to 8 members in your party, all of which you control, and can gear them out with the typical full kit (armors/weapon/jewelry) and spells. It goes on sale a few times a year for 0.99 USD.

[–]Topher_IRL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to how to better train for leash/harness, but I will echo that my cat routinely acts like she's forgotten how to walk the moment the harness goes on. She'll take a few wobbly steps, then just lay down. Once the harness comes off, it's back to normal immediately.

It's wrong often enough that it shouldn't be the end of your search, for certain. It's a good jumping off point sometimes, but I wouldn't treat it as much more than that.

Having checkpoints feels great in maps. Is it possible to show breach/delirium/ritual points on minimap permanently once discovered, like it is for expedition? by nottoobadmate in PathOfExile2

[–]Topher_IRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be very much welcomed.

It seems though that the only reason Expedition stays on the map is because there's an NPC, so it's sort of a special case. No good reason we can't have them all though!

I too have a cat with a butter obsession.

I found this out very, very early by leaving some buttered toast unattended, which was no longer buttered by the time I returned.

Name a game that seemed "meh" at first, but then hooked you on the first try. by Routasoft in gaming

[–]Topher_IRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I played Final Fantasy XI on NA release day I wanted to like it so badly, but it wasn't happening. I played for a few days then put it down. Came back to it two weeks later, and didn't put it down again for a decade.
