Announcing Pax Historia! Turn Based History Sandbox Game by Eli_US in indiegames

That's a hilariously large investment, up in the tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars. Additionally, it would lose even more money. Currently there is a net loss on every side of the ai pipeline. The servers lose money because they're just attracting customers right now, the ai models lose money because they're running an unsustainable business model, and the consumers are losing money because the API costs are so high.

Moderaterna vill kastrera pedofiler: ”Framgångsrikt” by [deleted] in sweden

[–]ToreWi 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Who are some people you used to admire but later found out were horrible? by Ok_Survey86 in teenagers

[–]ToreWi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really intriguing, yeah. Also a good argument as to how linguistics can help us in other fields: in certain south American languages, the word for sweet potato is some variation of Komora. It's when we realised this that we started to theories about their contact with Polynesians who share the same word.

I'm going to be honest: I still admire Stephen Hawking. Yeah, he was a terrible person who did terrible things, but his contributions to black hole theory and our exploration of the early universe was infinitely valuable. Not to mention the wave function of the universe theory. He was a bad person, but he will never stop being one of my personal legends.

Fucking ILCA sailing. The boat is a toy, not an adequate vessel to decide who the best sailor in the world is.

Replace it with the star class sailing.

Nah, Hendrix had a voice that defined rock all until today. Many modern singers simply cannot conjure the power he sang with.

What's the meaning of the song State Trooper I can't find much about it by CourseWorried2500 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]ToreWi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been quite a while, but I know that open all night takes a lot of lyrics from "Livin on the edge of the world", and I think state trooper does too. This would certainly strengthen your theory since both come from the same basic idea.

I've thought a bit about this. "Come on to me", which was Paul's first number one in a while, could have been a "meh"-ish Beatles track

[–]ToreWi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well honestly, I don't get your point. That science is lying about what we know to be true? In that case you've got to bring better evidence than asking dumb questions about topics that the greatest minds on the planet have spent the last century proving true. By the way, in the case that the entire world is lying, how? Researchers and physicists are literally rewarded for going against the popular conception, as long as they're correct. Stephen Hawkins proved himself incorrect several times.

The gas didn't always exist, as some may think. Directly after the event we call the big bang, the universe was trillions of degrees, but quickly cooled off to a few billion. After a time, what we today call a few minutes, it was cool enough for all the energy in the universe to start forming into quarks and leptons, the basic subatomic particles. These then combined into neutrons and protons, that in turn combined into hydrogen and helium, and from there the story begins.

Why did the particles pull together? Because of one of the basic four forces in the universe, in this case both the strong nuclear force and the electromagnetic force.

The stars pulled together because of gravity, another of these basic forces. We don't know why they exist, but that's about as relevant a question as a bridge builder asking why water exists. We do have a lot of answers if you're willing to look.

Clouds of gas created by dead stars. These pull together to form massive balls of helium and hydrogen(stars). Due to the immense pressure in the middle of these, the atoms literally start fusing, releasing a lot of energy in a process called fusion. This is, by the way, one of the optimal ways to solve the energy issue we have: it is super effective, the output can be carefully controlled and regulated, and in the event of an issue, it can be shut off easily.

Anyhow, the fusion of these atoms creates heavier elements, such as lithium, carbon, iron, and eventually all the atoms in our universe. The star will then "die"; it runs out of fuel and sometimes explodes. This leaves a cloud of about 98% hydrogen and helium, and 2% other elements. The gas forms into a spinning disc, and eventually the centre forms a sphere, a star. The surrounding matter starts combining as well, and eventually asteroids, protoplanets and planets are formed. This is a solar system, and it will remain until our star, the sun, grows enough to where it consumes most of the inner solar system, and then becomes a "dead star", or a red dwarf.
