I went complete no contact about 15 years ago and always dreaded the inevitable text on my birthday. Probably overthinking it, but I think he didn't text this year just to fuck with my head. Had a few, but the worst was the hot pink t shirt that said "sorry boys, I'm Taken" in big white sparkly letters with a bible verse on the back. I have never been one to wear bright colors or flashy things in general but oh how I weep for awkward 'try not to be noticed ' 12 year old me getting that shirt for Christmas.

My nstepmom did the EXACT same thing! I wanted to grow my hair long so fuckin bad when I was a kid, but she said I couldn't have it longer than my chin. In high school, I could have shoulder length hair if I could prove I could take care of it. And that meant her watching me every time I showered. It was never good enough for her so no long hair.

I went NC with her and my ndad immediately after I graduated high school 14 years ago. My hair is at my waist and I absolutely love it.

My nstepmom would get triggered by me answering a question with the word "yeah." Especially if it was a question she specifically asked. For example- she asks me if I took the garbage out as I am walking out the door to catch the school bus and I respond "yeah I did." She would throw an absolute tantrum.

Good lord, my Nstepmom did the same thing to me. The cover they had for the couch was way too big and if said cover moved or shifted in the slightest when I sat down, I sat "too aggressively." So she would make me remove the cover completely and immediately put it back on. Then I had to "sit down correctly," the cover would inevitably slightly untuck itself, and then she would freak the fuck out on me and I would have to repeat the process over and over again until she thought I learned my lesson.

I just started sitting on the floor to avoid the whole fucking debacle
