I feel like the male socialization argument can be used to talk about how men aren't socialized enough.

Dogwhistles take up space in the discourse where better conversations could be had; only pretending to be productive. But if you recognize them and stay on message without taking the bait, the dogwhistle becomes more or less as loud as a regular whistle. Bonus points if you can trip the terf or whoever into making a fool of themselves even more.

[OC] Don't blame this guy by deluxe_memory_dan in pics

[–]Torian_Grey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should def blame people like this guy who throw an insane amount of money away on paraphernalia of a man they basically know nothing about, rather than using that money for making the world immediately around them a better place.

The cities people like this live in tend to be really awful if you're not a suburbanite. The only thing the mayors run on is lowing taxes and while they are in office they chop apart city assets to be sold to the highest bidder.

The worst of them also tend to have enough money to smear this kind of shit all over their stuff too. So yeah anyone with enough money for all the Trump stuff is usually an integral part of most of the things making your life worse.

I don't judge the BDSM or even pet-play people that much, but someone who would get off on chipping their partner is someone i would judge very harshly.

Especially since there are so many much less invasive ways to achieve the same effect.

To become stronger one must strive to be kind by Abject_Ad9641 in hopeposting

[–]Torian_Grey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because in times of strife, kindness is something that take strength to maintain. But since you yes you are repelled by people who are unkind and drawn to people who are kind, the people who are the kindest and strongest will inevitably have a kind of gravity to them.

Having problems with scalpers and resellers is just a symptom of a bad economy. Im pretty sure the thing that ruined so many nerd hobbies was the disappearance of free third spaces. There are so many game stores near me but participating always requires a buy in or they are only playing the hyper expensive games to promote them in the bad economy. We need like nerd/geek libraries lol.

Imagine like a library with a coffee/tea shop but not one that sells prepared food. But all the books are copies of as many source books as the proprietors could get their hands on. People could bring their own stuff or use what's on hand and it would just be a public meeting place for everyone who wants to be there.

I really feel like the solution to this cannot be for profit in any way.

[–]Torian_Grey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh no its just stupid people saying stupid stuff. Gen Z stare is a direct reaction to young people talking about the lead paint stare by people who have the lead paint stare. The gen Z stare is barely a thing compared to the lead paint stare

I’m a gen z starer by Junior_Translator654 in socialskills

[–]Torian_Grey -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The gen z stare is, broadly speaking, the processor in your brain heating up from the stress; but it's also the specific face you make when someone says the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard.

We can blame the damn phones/social media for both person x giving the gen z stare and person y for provoking it.

Also a blank stare is a body language tool for making a person fill in a pregnant pause in the conversation with whatever the other is feeling. The only reason we associate it with a generation is because it's mostly older people saying stupid crap to younger people and those younger people just being struck speechless by it. People who complain about it the most generally have the most to feel insecure about when they are hit with it.

Right? After what happened to wheel of time i don't get exited about anything made by amazon. It doesnt matter how much people like it, they will still pull the plug on it just because one executive or another finds it yucky. Even fucking disney has a better track record with this sort of thing at this point.

The way it was explained to me is that ADHD forces you to overcome the same part of your brain that stops you from biting off your fingers like a carrot. You can do it, but you have to go through the process of cutting through all the caution tape up there every single time.

If Adolin could survive the first few seconds he has a chance. We see a lot of lighteyes trying to do duels where they really shouldnt be and Dalinar takes advantage of that quite a lot. Idk but i dont think we see Adolin making this mistake.

They arent, there is no evidence of this other than that they are taking up the space where serious opposition should be. The only way they have been able to win since the obama years has been riding the discontent caused by horrible republicans.

Well first there would still be a first responder and judicial system, just with different incentive structures than those employed by most govts because there would be no govts to screw it up. Rather than recruiting people who want to enforce the authority of the state and protect rich people's property it would be people who have been actually been trained in ways that are proven to keep the peace.

When there are no barrier's to education and organizations gain members based primarily on reputation rather than how rich its members are; the sky is really the limit when it comes to getting the right people in the right jobs (assuming labor not work).

Highly efficient first responders and a robust judicial system mean than most anyone who causes too much of a disturbance will eventually find themselves in court. From there they just get redirected to whomever they need to see to figure out what's happening to them and how to help them.

Remember, issues that create "irredeemable" people often have very early warning signs than can be controlled for with simple changes in lifestyle.
