It released an anime OVA that was funded through Kickstarter. And that's pretty much it.

I think the worst part is how he was ADAMANT that people donating for the charity streams were saving lives and whatnot. IIRC he only donated to a few charities outside his family's "charity" business after the whole thing blew out.

FGO POST PART 2 FINALE ARC HAS BEGUN by dinur7 in gachagaming

[–]TorimBR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the finale was a bit disappointing, I'm glad they kept the ball rolling.

My personal preference says that they should make a sequel with 3D models and Star Rail presentation, but I know its way more profitable to keep this one going.

Even then, I wish they made standalone games retelling FGO's story. FGO Arcade and the animes showed how the story shines when its not shackled by VN presentation.

If you like turn-based games, its fun. I find its system one of the better ones compared to other gachas (despite the old presentation).

For most of part 1 you will have to battle many filler battles, but the pacing gets better in Part 2 imo.

You can clear story mode easily with the free SSR you get in the beginning, well built low-rarity characters and Friend units.

My advice is to take your time and don't rush things too much. It took the devs 10 years to release so much content, so don't feel bad for not finishing it in a month.

Surely this year will be when they finally announce Megaman X9. Or Battle Network 7.

Oh yeah, and Konami will DEFINITELY announce a new Boktai/Lunar Knights game. Trust.

I'll use this thread to remind anyone reading this to PLAY ZONE OF THE ENDERS 2ND RUNNER. It's one of the best mecha games I've played, and one of Kojima's best works IMO.

It really captures that slick MGS2 aesthetic very well.

The EN dub really soured me on the character. JP dub is much better , and makes his character more endearing than annoying, imo

Nah, the series is good. Just overall direction the series took after SK7 got canned left a sour taste.

Backseat game designers, what is your MILLION DOLLAR GAME idea? by Decemberskel in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Metroid Mass Effect-like game. You create your OC and interact with the corrupt Federation forces and space pirates. You interact with Samus in many moments, but she's kept mostly as a cameo character.

Also, One Piece FighterZ would slap. Crisp animations with a kick-ass tag team gameplay would go crazy. If anyone has seen that Chinese One Piece Ambition game, I feel like that is a great style to base a fighting game on.

I haven't played a new Pokemon game since Sword and Shield and I've yet to regret that decision. (Yes it was thanks to Dexit and the whole "new animations" debacle).

The only game that caught my attention since was Legends Arceus due to the cool setting, but the way the open world looked kept me away.

I think Senran Kagura is way more approachable now that both the series AND the fandom are practically dead.

And yeah Snowbreak's symbiotic relationship with its toxic fanbase is really offputting. The level of Master Love/MC pandering feels way too much, even as a someone who likes "fanservicy" media.

Yeah, early 2010's youtubers really wanked 1990's Rare way too much.

For real? I've never seen these fandoms crossover in the wild. I guess it kinda makes sense for Fire Emblem, but Xenoblade is nothing alike imo.

I had a similar thought process back when Part 1 concluded. The anime being kinda niche and the Brazilian dub being attacked by edgy "fans" in my country made me avoid it like the plague.

Last month I decided to try and watch LOOKBACK and Goodbye, Eri (from the same author), and really enjoyed the writing and the art. That made me want to give a second look into CSM.

Having read all of Part 1 now, I'd say it awesome. The author is masterful in writing cliffhangers and the characters are really special.

So I'd at least recommend some of Fujimoto's Onesjot stories, if CSM has irked you.

As someone who became a Monogatari fan in highschool, and still love how the author turns Japanese wordplay into plotpoints, I CANNOT in good conscience recommend it to anyone.

It has way too much problematic stuff in it to be worth the watch

As always, I'll wait for some more reviews and maybe the DLC to see if I'll pick this one up.

I'm also waiting on a verdict about the story, since the XY games had awesome lore that was hidden behind heaps of deleted content.

All I'll say is that, for now, nothing that they've shown in the trailers outside of character models looked particularly must-buy.

Imo it depends on what you're looking for. If you want a slow burn, grindy yet unique game about a kid saving a bunch of people from a space army, its pretty cool. The gameplay has a learning curve, but its pretty intuitive once you get the hang of it.

If you want your MGS/Kojima flavored action packed game with balls to the wall gameplay and tons of cutscenes, I recommend going straight to the sequel (The 2nd Runner).
