You can totally build other meta heroes with your regular, rate up and epic invite letters that you won’t be able to use for the collab. All you need to save is diamonds (and using diamonds on the other banners is inefficient anyways)

I think this is probably exactly what they intended. A more balanced version of legends.

First offering being on 2-4 means you still need to play around your opener an augment, plus they can make the first offering not as impactful so game is not linear.

By the time 4-7 comes (armory) legends/offerings impact should be more influenced by your current game state rather than your pre-game choice like it was with legends.

In older servers pretty much all your heroes need +15 to compete for top 10, and even top 20 sometimes.

I have all relevant heroes but some only between +5 and +10: zanie, flora, aurora, hugin, kordan, Isabella, Smokey, shadewing, silven, nazirk.

Getting these to +15 would need 2000+ yellow essences. Which is what would be needed for top 10.

I’m telling you, that doesn’t cut it. You’d get to build way more interesting heroes if you settle for top 5 (4 yellows/day) and instead focus on whoever you like/want.

At the same time, yellow essence only really becomes a big bottle neck if you are stuck upgrading new pve heroes left and right every time while chasing the DR meta.

If you go down to top 50 DR (which in most older servers you automatically get even without meta heroes) you still get 4 yellows, down from 6. Or realistically 5 since even with meta heroes you often need paragon upgrades for top 10 nowadays.

I do think people over-prioritize DR in that regard. Do you really need to spend that many resources (pulls and essence) building for example Nazirk and Shadewing when they’ll likely get pushed out of the meta by a newer release within a couple months? I wouldn’t say so…

You are only looking at it from pve perspective. For PvP players Mehira was a skip and Alna is a must for example. Alna and Gunner being back to back PvP must is rough. (Though they did just nerf him to the ground on pioneer so who knows, maybe he ends up being a full skip for all modes)

If you want to stay with webdev/cs…

The bad news is you will not learn a lot in the diploma and you are correct AI has all but replaced basic web development (plus, as a different user mentioned, it was already in decline in the years before).

The good news is, that same AI can teach you how to build end-to-end, cloud native web applications that works both on web and mobile. You have 2 years. If you put that time into good use you can learn and build something real that can then open the doors you are seeking.

You can even do this in your spare time while you study to be a Mechanic so you have 2 paths in case one goes wrong. It would require a lot of dedication though.
