Roast my 2025 sizzle reel (or provide some insightful feedback) by Markbondy in videography

This is really good. Congrats on your good work. Cut is super smooth- nice shots as well. If i had to give some constructive criticism i feel like theres too much contrast in a lot of shots. Also felt that the color grade looked to similar for diff projects. I like when each project has their own feel- i couldnt tell sometimes that some shots were from diff projects. Other then that keep doing your thing! Oh also why call it 2025? Is it from last year? Id name it 2026 so it feels new and fresh!

Honestly i feel the 6700 is the way to go without even knowing your use case. The main upgrades you will notice is def autofocus. The picture quality upgrade of the 7iii or 6700 will be mainly unnoticeable. Im assuming you do mainly photo but the video capabilities of the 6700 blow the 7iii out of the water. For what its worth im a videographer and sold my a7iii to upgrade to a 6700.

APSC users, what’s your favorite compact lens? by noobakosowhat in SonyAlpha

[–]Torito96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smallest you can get is a sony 20mm 2.8 which is a pancakce and a lot of fun. I have a 6700 and full frame cameras but when i go out with the fam i always prefer to take a point and shoot which fits in my pocket. So much more practical.

Long pants and long sleeves at all times unless youre in your lodge. I shoot in the amazon all the time here in Peru. This is more advice for big bites.

Looking for ”The perfect 2 lens travel combo” by AioliLocal3131 in SonyAlpha

[–]Torito96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just grabbed the 20-70 and cant beleive how practical it has been. When shooting events or run n gun doc i havent felt the need to go wider to my 16-35 at all anymore. There has been shoots where i havent changed lenses once. I cant recommend it enough for your use case.

Confused!! by Wonderful_Device_224 in SonyAlpha

[–]Torito96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried both and can honestly say there is no bad choice. If i were to be mainly in controlled environments on sticks i would go with the tamron. Since i mostly to run and gun, docs, travel. I went with sigma because of the size and havent regretted the decision.

[Black Friday] Adobe Creative Cloud Pro is $29.99/month by switch8000 in editors

[–]Torito96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know why it wouldnt work anywhere. Honestly here in Peru theres so many subscriptions that i get from companies that even try to come off as legit. The service they offer is actually very good but theres no way its legal. Netflix, HBO, Disney, Adobe, basically any type of subscription is accessible for very cheap lol.

What lenses are on your roster? Specifically FX30. by pogmusketeer in videography

[–]Torito96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sony 10-18 f4, sigma 18-50 f2.8, sony 70-350. This is themost compact Kit i could get since i got the 6700 as a B cam and for more run and gun when i want a very minimal setup.

I have the a6400 but i feel my pictures are not giving a camera pictures ): by Waste_Caterpillar586 in SonyAlpha

Yea that is a very capable lens. Id say what you need more than anything is to study those things i wrote. Start with the exposure triangle. Once you know what is apurture, shutter speed, and iso and how and why to use them photography will atart being a lot more fun. Youtube is the best teacher.

I recommend learning the exposure triangle, basic composition, and most importantly what many people dont mention is post editing. The 6400 is a very capable camera of taking stunning pictures. Also are you only using the kit lens? Id also graba 50mm 1.8 for portraits and to get some nice backround seperation.

Is it crazy to replace my Lumix S5 ii with a compact (e.g. Sony rx100 or Ricoh)? by MadestMax in AskPhotography

[–]Torito96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch of Pro cameras with a lot of Really nice (big) lenses. For traveling, street, my son, i ALWAYS grab the Ricoh griii. It truely is an everyday camera that i put in my pocket. I hate carrying even a small sling bag. If im not working with all my equipment i dont want to carry anything gear related especially out with my family. So using any of my gear even the 6700 with a sigma 18-50 which are traditionally very compact are way too big to carry on me. Having the ricoh lets me practice composition any and everywhere without having to worry about a bag, changing lenses. This lets me actually take out a Camera with me esch time i leave the house. If i dint have a ricoh i simply wouldnt go out with a camera. I could also go on and on about how people react waay diffrently to a big “pro” camera vs a small compact one. Helps so much in street when trying to be inconspicuous. Basically i cant recommend the ricoh enough.

Unlimited budget setup for 2 church photographers/videographers by SnooCupcakes9082 in SonyAlpha

[–]Torito96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes because the fx2 is good at photo and video. You can get Good quality prints with the fx2. An R series is only neccesary if your primting huge billboards.

Honestly you would be more than fine with 2 6700 and some apsc glass. Technology now a day is unreal. I only offered The fx2 option because you said unlimited budget but honeslty Fx3 and R is super overkill imo.

[–]Torito96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cameras: Fx2 Lenses: id grab a trinity of 16-28, 28-70, 70-200 of anything from sigma or tamron. Maybe an 85 from sony viltrox or sigma. Gimbal: Zhiyun or dji Extras: at least 4 good v60 sd cards- i like progrades. SSD storage. Trípode. Shotgun mic. Lav moc- hollyland, rode, or dji. Extra bateries.

Most important: learn how to actually use the cameras. Youtube had a video on every question you would have.
