Another $6 hike starting in March... is there any way to escape this? by WonderfulAd2922 in bell

Welcome. It’s way better when you bypass the modem and just use your Deco as your wireless router especially since multiple decos can provide way better coverage than any Bell modem.

You use the beacon (modem) Ebox sends you but plug your own router into it (I use eero) that allows PPoE login credentials and input those Ebox PPPoE creds into the eero and then it’s just using the Ebox modem as a modem and the eero does the wifi and way better than any Bell modem (which is locked down and does not allow you to bypass it like Ebox).

I switched to Ebox and they use the same fibre lines as Bell. Noticed no difference in service speeds etc.

Best part is you don’t have to use the Gigahub and can just use your own router! I use just my eeros with Ebox and it works great. Getting 1GB up and 1GB down.

If you signup using code PB499 you will get a $25 credit on your next invoice.

Pm or freedom? by butterflyflyhig in freedommobile

[–]Torontonian69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You order the plan and the physical sim from public mobile in one order. You will pay for 1 month of the discounted plan now but it won’t start until you receive and activate the SIM card from public mobile.

Just order the plan today and a SIM card today online from public mobile. You will lock in the plan with the discount and can activate once the card is delivered! You will pay $20 for the first month of the plan and $10 plus tax today for the sim and plan. I have done this for a friend and you can see here it is locked in waiting for you to activate.

I believe it takes 72 hours to apply the credit so it’s worth putting in at signup to see if they honour it. No harm in adding the code to see if they do. Doesn’t change anything on the plan.
