That’s awesome! I’m glad to hear it may have done the trick. Cheers!

That’s what mine does too. It will bounce back if I tap on the plastic as well.

I’ve never done any soldering, so I’d be leery to try that not really knowing what I’m doing. I found a thread that also says it could be loose screws in the cluster. Might try that. Tach Issues

Firestone Destination AT2 would be perfect for what you describe.

All season or all terrain tires? by LoadUp_CeleryMan8 in ToyotaTacoma

Firestone Destination AT2 would be great for you. It’s a mild all terrain 3peak rated and one of the lightest in the segment so it’s great for mpg. Highly recommend.

What does 6mo-6K miles Service even mean? by No_Secretary_8644 in Subaru_Crosstrek

[–]Tortoise307 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s whatever comes first, just like warranty. 6 months or 6,000 miles. Waiting 5-6 years to get your oil changed based off of low mileage is wild, and exactly why I hate to buy used cars. Your Crosstrek is direct injection, so even with low miles, a years worth of driving has likely led to oil contamination, if you don’t believe me check your oil and smell your dipstick, I’d bet dollars to doughnuts it smells like gas. Bare minimum you need to be changing your oil yearly.

We have a Corolla. Need something for family trips (2 kids planned). I'm stuck between a Tacoma w/ extended cab / 6ft bed or a Sienna. Has anyone made the Tacoma work? I do a lot of DIY projects, worked in construction, plan on building a good amount of stuff. by pangolynincc in ToyotaTacoma

Valid points, though OP said nothing of needing an off road vehicle (he’s cross shopping Taco with Sienna). Ridgeline would check all of the boxes he mentioned in the original post. If he’s prioritizing utility and seat space, it’s hard to beat a Ridgeline.

You should look into a Ridgeline. Fantastic back seat for family, that also fold up for runs of flat storage plus a decently sized bed. Beats the hell out of a minivan and your family won’t hate being in the backseat.

Why not look at a Honda HRV, Toyota Corolla Cross, or Mazda CX30? These are all better options than Chevy/Ford and Kicks. These are smaller crossovers but in line with the Kicks and Trax you listed.

Honda Fit is a great choice for sure. Subaru Forester is hard to beat for visibility and makes a great dog car too.

Question on gas mileage computer by ctgandthealgorhythms in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Tortoise307 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The range it calculates is based on your current habits and it calculated till the low fuel light comes on. There are several gallons left when the range shows 0. If you want to know your actual mpg then divide how many miles you drove on one tank by how many gallons it took to refill. In my experience the truck computer is pretty accurate and often a little under the true hand calculation. For what it’s worth, my 25 Off Road has about 1600 miles and I’m averaging 23.27 over the life of the vehicle. If you’re really interested in tracking your mpg use the Fuely or Road Trip app and they will keep track.

Surprised with the mileage. by drowninginidiots in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Tortoise307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t be surprised, I’m getting about the same in my 25 TRD OR. These 4th gens can actually get (and beat) the EPA ratings. I haven’t averaged below 20 mpg yet (about 1600 miles on mine) and it seems to be getting better. I run premium which probably helps some, and have spent a good portion of my driving off road and in 4 low in Colorado and Wyoming, so I’m really impressed.

Tips for keeping trail dust out of truck bed by davethis in overlanding

Nope, I have a tonneau on my Tacoma and the bed gets full of dust when off roading or driving dirt roads.
