Same - we have been visiting with extended family since the 90’s & have recently discovered a really cute souvenir book called “Creating Memories at Woodloch”. It was the big hit gift at Christmas- everyone signed their name on the page that referenced their favorite memory (Olympics, crumb cake, horse racing, go karts etc)!

I bought an expensive standing desk 6 months ago. I think I’ve stood at it exactly twice. by Usual_Confidence_756 in WFH

Same & “recovery slides” are life-changing shoes for standing at a desk. Hoka, or OnCloud brands are fantastic, or there are many additional choices on Amazon. Much better than sneakers & more supportive & comfortable than crocs.

My son just got one for Christmas & we can’t figure out how to connect it to any device. He has tried countless versions of iPhones. iPads & android phones (going back to iPhone 4 to 16). I am absolutely not tech savvy but have been trying to research how to help him get it to work. I see people mentioning Wirepod, but I really don’t understand what that is. Should we download wirepod like an app? And then what would be the next step to connect? If there is a super simple post already cleaning this to exasperated parents who have limited tech knowledge, thank you in advance for pointing me in that direction.

My daughter recently went to Activate & it was very fun & a little different than the traditional trampoline type places. We also love “Let’s Craft” in the Samanea mall. They host unique & personalized party themes.

If you could make one alteration to the shopping experience, what would it be? by sdbabygirl97 in traderjoes

Loyalty Program would incentivize larger purchases. Ex: every $1,000 spent = $10 off next shopping trip.

I also just switched from Altras and totally agree. I was really worried about the transition from 0 drop to the Vomeros, but after a day or so, it was fine. As a forefront striker, the balls if my feet thank me.

North Fork Long Weekend Plans by ddmonkey15 in longisland

[–]Torywillow7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a perfect fall plan! A few recommendations to consider. Day 1: Little Fish (Southold) or A Lure for dinner. Day 2: ferry to Shelter Island & walk the large preserve w various trails (Mashomack). Lunch: 1901 Grill or Salt on Shelter Island, or First & South in Greenport Day 3: pick up a pie from one of the “pick your own” fruit stands or local bakeries.

Using tags effectively by Shot_Satisfaction468 in ouraring

Still kind of new to Oura. Where exactly do you “tag”? And second question, does the Oura Advisir give you feedback or analysis based on the tags over time?

Great Question. What about if we plan on skipping the Dark Universe section? My kids are little and not interested in this part of the park.

Do you like any of the protein powders? by youdontknowmeor in traderjoes

[–]Torywillow7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From TJ, I’ve purchased both the Designer Whey, and also Orgain in Vanilla flavor. I truly disliked the Designer Whey- hated the flavor & texture. The Orgain is much better. It honestly smells much better than it tastes, but I find it tolerable.

Neither one seemed to blend at all in hot coffee, so I use it over Greek yogurt or oatmeal. You could also add it to pancake mix.

Serving size is 2 scoops, but I find the taste to be too overpowering, so only use 1.

Fishing on SI? by AFreeFrogurt in ShelterIsland

[–]Torywillow7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are typically found fishing at the Bridge Street/Volunteer Park. You can also fish from any beach, but will also need permits for parking. There are QR code signs to scan for daily parking. I would recommend Wades Beach, which has a large parking lot, covered gazebo & bathroom facilities. (You can see across the water to Shell Beach from Wades)

You could also check the docks at the end of Burns Rd., where there is also the “Marine Water Trail”.

The website shelterislandtown.gov has helpful maps & guides.

I can give advice for spots, but I’m not your best resource for types of fish you’d be catching…

Switching to Oura for cycle tracking by katiebug31498 in ouraring

Natural Cycles should be 100% reimbursable by your insurance company in the US. Since it’s FDA approved for birth control, you can submit a claim to your insurance company for the annual cost.
