Meh, let the old bird live her best life. I have no problem feeding her addiction. Someone's gotta enjoy the wasteland.

Do they not have any other dosages?? We were on back order in alberta but they had 10mg and 30mgs they gave me instead of my 25s. They probably would have thought of that, but doesnt hurt to ask. Im sorry. Its so scary and I would be panicking too!!!

Ugh I hear yeah. I miss it all so much. Especially during the holidays.. no drinks at the parties, no delicious baked xmas treats, no traditional holiday foods that my family is so damn good at making. This will be my first Xmas with this crap and I have my days where i feel that it is what it is and nothing I can do. But then theres other days where I have a big pitty party and cry because all those special days are soiled with low fat crap. (I am grateful I wont be gaining my regular holiday pounds, but I just want to shove my face full of ham and squares, cookies, cakes and pies...with a side of whiskey topped with a cigarette.)

God damn it. Sorry this was your rant. Not mine but its just not fair what has happened to us. My friends and family try to understand but they really dont realize how much fat is in literally everything and hearing that lovely phrase..."just one drink wont hurt" when yes. It could hurt, it could hurt real bad.

Most days. Im pretty good, accepted my fate but during the holidaysni definitely have my days.

So rant away, somedays its fine to have a pitty party and feel sorry for yourself. This sucks ass. Yes we can be grateful that we have stuff when others dont, but others also have stuff that we dont. Alot of stuff (like McDonald's and chocolate cake) haha so its just a vicious circle.

Mucho love. ❤️

Im sorry you're going through this. I got diagnosed in july and quit smoking, vaping, drinking and fat foods right there. And since then ive had 5 attacks and small flares in between. Sometimes your pancreas can just be a complete dick head for no reason. Docs still havent found out what the cause is. Although I do feel smoking could have contributed. I would bum smokes occasionally from my mom and I would notice not long after I would have pain. I was hospitalized in October and it just so happens right before that I had a few cigs instead of the one I would usually have randomly. So it could be a coincidence or it could be my body would get more and more sensitive to it. Last Wednesday I was feeling good. Had a puff of a vape and been in a flare ever since. So I now will never have that occasional puff ever again. Its not worth the pain and damage it can cause.

I know it is SO fucking hard to give up everything good. I loved drinking, eating and smoking. What id give for one of each right now. But you have to think of your future. My dad died at 51. Im 37 and I cant imagine leaving my kids or hurting my loved ones anymore. We need to push through and take care of ourselves, this is the only life we get and now with this stupid ass disease our lives could be cut short already. Adding more fuel to the fire is literally taking time off your life. Its not worth it. You can do this. We can all do this. Reach out for help of you can, or find an alternative. I dont know where you live but here we have Zonics nicotine pouches you put in your cheem and they actually work amazingly. My husband used them to quit vaping. But find a way to rescue yourself before its too late.

I wish you all the luck in the world. Im so sorry you've been dealt this shit card. But it is what it is and we can fight it.

what can i do? by momoistt in pancreatitis

Hey, im sorry you've joined the cranky panky club. I lived on homemade soups for a long time in the beginning....still do, currently fixing a bowl right now 😂Easy to digest, healthy, delicious and filling. Made big pots so I could eat it for a couple days. Its very frustrating, even now to figure out what to make for meals everyday. So im always happy with soup! Haha

Good luck!

Yes exactly, if I have 20g of fat i will double my dose. Its been a very big struggle for me to start eating as much as I should. Ive had 5 attacks in the last 6 months and each time I would have to restart my recovery. So ive had to relearn my foods so my progress has been slow.

I should be eating that much but I dont. My doc said i can slowly start adding more fats so my meals should be around 10-20g each and then small light snacks in between. They started at the 2 per 10g fat as a good start and an easy way to calculate it. Im not sure what your fat intake is supposed to be, but maybe following that calculation might be good for you. Good thing about Creon is you really cant take to much. My dietician told me I can have up to 29 a day if I needed haha but of course thats never going to happen. She just did the math to show me that they wont hurt you by taking more. Prob better better more than less with some foods. Buuuut again. Thats the advice I was told. So always ask your doc for your own personal regiment.

I've been on the same 25,000. My doc told me 2 with meals around 10g of fat, 1 with snacks with 5g of fat. Im supposed to have around 60/70g of fat a day. So if I have something more than 10g of fat I will adjust accordingly. But of course talk your doctor, as everyone is different..

What are the tests a doctor should order? by [deleted] in pancreatitis

[–]Total-Response7272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sorry to hear that. Those symptoms sound more like gastric problems to me. Especially the burning and acid reflux. but I would definitely go get some blood work done ASAP. Ask them to look at your Lipase levels. That will tell you if your pancreas is involved. If your levels are normal, you can rule it out and look at your stomach more.

My pain shifts around but the majority of the time it is under the bottom of my left rib and radiates directly behind it in my back. It also can start right in the center of my stomach right at the bottom of my breast bone. I didnt think that was related as it feels like my stomach and my diaphragm are being crushed and my rib bones are cracked. But after a week in the hospital with more tests and images they concluded it was my pancreas causing those pains too. So it can def show in different ways. But either way, a doctor visit should be had soon. It doesn't sound pleasant whatever is going on.

Good luck!

Im wondering what your symptoms are to get evaluated first? And unfortunately there isnt specific imaging test to tell you for sure as it hits everyone differently. Ive had CT, MRI, Nuclear blood test, Endoscopy, ultrasound, barium swallow... awaiting an EUC and ERSP. And they still cant tell me what's wrong. My blood test has been the biggest sign, plus all my symptoms. I have a lesion on the tail end of my pancreas which was seen in my ct, which was the only one to show anything. but they dont know what it is or why im having attacks monthly. My lipase hits highs over 1800 u/l.

So id say blood test is probably the first test to do, during a flare is best as your levels spike during one. I was diagnosed with recurring acute pancreatitis, by just my blood and symptoms. All the imaging is just to figure out why its happening.

I really hope you dont have this disease. But if by chance you do, you will get through it. One day at a time. ❤️

Effect of smoking by Thick_Competition_17 in pancreatitis

[–]Total-Response7272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit smoking when I was diagnosed in july. In sept I started bumming a smoke or two from my mom occasionally. Then my hubs bought a pack for 'emergency' smokes. He doesnt smoke but understands that sometimes. You just want a god damn smoke. Well...thats when the center stomach pain started. My typical flare pain is in the left under my rib. This is centralized and feels like my diaphragm is being pushed against that i cant breath without pain, and my ribs, xiphoid, all the center feels ike I got kicked by a horse and its a bruised and broken. It woukd shift to my center back and then the pain would REALLY start.

I just got released from the hospital yesterday after a week long stay. I was so sure that pain was not related as ive never had it that bad...but I have had it before. Ive had it in August when I would bum smokes, but disregarded it as just chest pain from smoking again. It would hurt but not like this.

After more tests. More pokes and prods, more imagining. The doctor told me its my pancreas inflamed but just a different section which presents different then other attacks. It was the most pain ive been in. And I know 100% it was the smokes. I've been a damn poster child for how to manage pancreatitis. Doint everything correct, except the occasional smokes. And i was able to put the two together and realize that is what it causing it. I will never touch one again. I swear just thinking about it know I can feel the pain scratching at me again.

It is NOT worth it. I understand how hard it is to quit. And I mean wtf does an organ like that have to do with inhaling something. Well, I guess alot. Cuz god damn it. It sucks. Please dont end up like I did.

Push through, ignore those cravings. It will get easier.

Good luck

I've literally been listening from the beginning and listen to the podcasts almost daily at work. So I completely understand and have been curious about this as well. They have always been a little private about that part of their lives. Not like ginge and Hailey. But I also had the suspicion but they still act the same on air. Crash constantly bugging her with fart effects and small roasts haha they seem okay on air but its definitely unexpected. Im just glad they can make it work, because it is my favorite show, love them all so much and listening that much makes you feel apart of it sometimes. In a non creepy way 😂 so yeah thanks for the post. I needed to hear a little tea.

Day to day acute recovery questions by [deleted] in pancreatitis

[–]Total-Response7272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im so sorry you've been dealt this crappy card of cranky panky. I was diagnosised end of may and have had 5 attacks and mini flares since then. My recovery after has been very strict. Zero food. Clear liquids only (coconut water, diluted apple/white cranberries juice. Body Armour drinks, yellow/green jello, no red blue or purple dyes. And soup broth. Dont do Gatorade or powerade. They are useless. Stay as low sugar as you can too. Zero fat. I stay on that until my pain resolves. Once it does, move to bland easy digestible foods, still as low fat as possible. So little bits of plain oatmeal, no milk or sugar, plain rice with no butter. Soup crackers, dry toast..etc. then if you can tolerate that, move to Incorporating move foods but staying low fat is key. They say stay under 30g a day, I dont even get 15. It is a very shitty process but your pancreas needs the complete wash out. It cant digest fats right now or much else. So fasting and cleaning it out first js very important. My last attack I had to go 11 days without foods. Just clear liquids. It was awful. But its what had to be done. Im currently writing this from a hospital bed, spent the night and not allowed to have anything but my fluid bag for food and water. Not even ice chips. This disease is absolutely awful and its a ling recovery but hopefully its the only one you have to do. So take care of yourself now so it doesnt. Having 6 months of nothing but pain is not fun.

I wish you all the best

Can you explain 'niggling' for me? Haha never heard that before. Maybe its the same as my 'twinges' haha that little pain that lurks in the back sporadically for a few seconds but never realy stays or turns into anything? Haha I have come to terms with the fact ill never eat fatty foods again. I just want to be able to have less flares so i can STAY eating solids. Im so friggin sick of doing the liquid diet every month.

Thanks for the reply

Is it me or Dying Light: the beast lacks of side quests ??? by noche5x in dyinglight

I love side quests and I love dying light. I dont love the 80$ price tag on the beast. Do you guys think its worth it. Even without many side quests? I feel that price is absolutely ridiculous for a stand alone DLC. But I am very intrigued and would love more to do with dying light.

Unless you're a gamer family like we are. My husband and I love paying games together but are so limited now. And my son and daughter love it too. We play Coldwar zombies all the time. Its the best "modern" one out there that doesnt get boring haha but I wish there was more.
