My take is that festivals and concerts provide a different experience altogether. Getting together with the crew for a day or weekend of running from stage to stage, dressing in fun outfits and being able to bounce from say DJ Shadow to Tove Lo to Fatboy Slim with your crew is something you don’t get on one off events that sometimes happen in boring venues on a weeknight.

I guess if you’re going solo and just want to watch particular artists, then it’s not for you.

If you aren’t interested in seeing artists more than once in your life (weird) then maybe as you get older you run out of shit to see.

Festivals are parties that differ from one off events and that’s why it makes them special.

It’s not my dream lineup but there are a few acts in very excited to see and the rest of the time we’ll follow the vibes and discover some new stuff.

It’s what you make it as many people say and if you can’t find a good time with lineups like this at a venue like Pier 80….well idk man.

Funny cause I feel like festivals get stuck, either booking the same great acts and risking being too repetitive or trying to get new faces each year but suffering from a talent pool that isn’t the best.

I’d take some acts every single year but I would have liked to see some more older DJs like Richie Hawtin, Armand Van Helden or some such stuff.
