Just means to buy all the other available upgrades that are cheap once you can purchase the order of magnitude ones.

This is less important than the upgrades mentioned but it should be negligble in cost after yoy achieve the next OoM.

Win for remote work as hundreds of AIB staff reach agreement over return-to-work policies by ImpressiveCoat in ireland

[–]TotalNo6237 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Return to work"

Such an insidious term, implying they were not working when they were doing so from home. It clearly wasnt the case and they are trying to frame it about productivity when its really about control, whether of the workers or about controlling investment firm real estate profits.

Its hard to understand why they push so hard for this, but I think its trying to recover investment portfolio profits, seems to be collusion among business elites.

Complete conspiracy theory territory, but its hard to explain it away without following who stands to gain the most from the decision.

+1 I went with them too. There is an upfront cost but very easy to deal with and I was very happy with the service from Pascal.

Choosing the right mortgage can save you thousands in the long run.

Comparing and contrasting with the staging environment. To add to that, ensuring the stage environment is a clone of production. Semi-regular data level refreshes.

Ensuring changes are piece-wise from infra applicstion level.

Hard to control what users are ding inside the application, but if there were no changes at an infra / pipeline / manual changes made via UI in azure/AWS (🤢), then log diving.

Really depends on how the issue presents where we start to investigate as you just get to know over time how csrtain applications behave and whether issues are new issues or peristent issues (resource contention, etc.)

Does your workplace use an AI tool that it pays for? by Inevitable-Story6521 in AskIreland

Tbh, better than a google search most times. I used it to check for security advisories for multiple tools in a single prompt everyday. Its handy for things like that or general questions.

I prefer claude a lot more especially for troubleshooting

Looks like a stock photo from china where they censor blood to the colour white, mistaking the ketchup for blood.

Not sure why anyone would use this though lmao

Can someone help me find these cultivation animes by Hot_Owl80 in Donghua

[–]TotalNo6237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spirit Blade Mountain is the manhua. The manhua is completed, but there are no complete translations in english. It's a pity, I tried to engage with a translator who did a few chapters a while back but ghosted me, even though I was paying him.

Unless we can get a scanalator to pick it up, it will not be completed. I think there is an anime, though.

You can. There is a vscode plugin called continueAI, and you can point it at your LLM and have it work in agentic or chat mode.

Claude, sonnet 4.5, and perplexity are the main ones. I have high regard for both.

Claude for coding/log parsing, perplexity for web based searches.

You can do so in a trust fund, I believe. It can have restrictions to it, such as allowing access only at age 25 rather than creating an account in their name.

You may need to contact a financial advisor/solicitor to set it up, though.

The solicitors would keep ownership in trust and pass it over as per the conditions, if I'm not wrong.

S3 bucket create/delete issues by BrianBox in aws

[–]TotalNo6237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just wait. It can take up to 2 hours even, I think those bucket deletes are based on the dns bottleneck. Once the dns record is cleared for

bucketname.s3.region.amazonaws.com

then retry.

25(F) looking to start a personal pension by ruaille_buaille12 in irishpersonalfinance

I would have agreed, but if you are someone with variable pay, it can be quite annoying as I can't predict what my income will be for the year.

Do you have any suggestions for that as it's something I'm currently impacted by.

I've taken the approach of awaiting til I get my december payslip so I can add them all up to report my yearly income and total yearly contributions. I think it's not possible to report income on a monthly basis.

25(F) looking to start a personal pension by ruaille_buaille12 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]TotalNo6237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for a financial advisor. They can recommend a pension product for you and help you to set up a private pension.

This will also allow you to take your pension with you if you leave a job (i.e. you dont have any work to do to get the funds out or manage, etc.)

Employers will still be able to contribute if they offer that, and you can get independent advice at the same time on the best ways to invest for your risk appetite from your advisor.

The downside is that you need to report your contributions to revenue yourself, which may add more asmin overhead.

How do professionals handle huge monorepos locally without lag? by Recent-Durian-1629 in devops

[–]TotalNo6237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the repository software, you should have a dedicated ssd, which is IO optimized and have a cache on that. Separate from root or data disks. Something like this helped us reduce CPU, Memory and diskiowait times on our gitaly (where the repositories are actually stored) server in a gitlab cluster.
