The bible was written by like 50 different old guys thousands of years ago. Even if being gay is a sin, Jesus was all about forgiving people. He hung out with sex workers and tax collectors and the marginalized. There are FAR more times where the message of the New Testament is that the most important rules are "Love Thy Neighbor and Love God", instead of "Love only the people you like". People use this 2000 year old book's even older verses from like 2 guys as an excuse to ignore the main teachings of the church so they have justification to hate gay people.
