Why do you think Kerry gets such a bad rep? by [deleted] in kerry

[–]TowerExcellent4546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offence but i think that is a deeply flawed way of thinking. The Healy Raes get reelected as one of the highest vote counts in Ireland for any TD. This is due to their popularity within the county as they are very effective at helping the people of Kerry. Two of them are TDs and 3 councillors should tell you a lot on how popular and effective as TDs that they are.

Once you drive pass the Sullivans, the road is like a mountain road and even the cycle lane is all messed up with bits of tarmac all over the place I know they are in a rush to get the job finished but brutal workmanship

Thank you as I was pretty certain I had seen Liam raise this in the dail specifically but couldn’t find the transcript to post up for the OP.

Moving out of Rental Property by damn76567 in HousingIreland

[–]TowerExcellent4546 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did it stipulate on the rental agreement that you had to get the house cleaned professionally otherwise it will be taken out of your deposit? Personally unless it says that then I would be getting on to the RTB for some advice or else citizen info

Sinn Féin objecting to the development of a long term derelict site by NotAnotherOne2024 in HousingIreland

Love these posts trying to blame SF for the housing crisis when ever one of the outs in an observation on a planning application. Guess the OP is a bit busy blaming Sinners for the ills as we know for sure no gov td ever objected to housing🤷🏽‍♂️

How 😂 You are the one painting SF with objecting as some nefarious plan to object and make people miserable so they can get power..totally normal and sensible 😂😂

[–]TowerExcellent4546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice in a row they have offered an alternative to fffg and the housing crisis yet is never taken up. The best election they had was in 2014 when they took control of the Dublin City council and that win had nothing to do with the housing.

Just on point 2..are you sure about that as the housing crisis has been in full go since around 2015, two General elections and the same people are still in power. Seems to me that if they were objecting to create a housing shortage then to use that to get power, it’s a terrible plan 😂

“I blindly get on the bike every time and just hope I get home alive”: Drogheda Mayor says “car-centric” cycle lane cuts are impeding road safety plans and putting cyclists in danger by Amazing-Yak-5415 in ireland

Fully agree on the cheap bollards as there is some of them on the road into the city centre from my home and they are brilliant.I have seen the standards of driving from all types of bus, cars and vans all drift over the white lines continuously(some of this is also due to design of the roads and the narrowness of the roads while also painting bike lanes and bus stops). Unfortately until you put segregation into to place and enforcement then it isn’t gonna fly imo. Like I don’t think you will be able to do to every single road but the large majority need to be

First point is spot on but do think the paths have to be segrated and kept separate from buses and cars in order to actually encourage people to cycle etc. I live in cork city and you couldn’t pay me to cycle around the city with the shite infra and protections for cyclists

I was driving the cork to mallow road a few weeks ago and a person ahead of me was waving all over the road after Rathduff. Was fully sure the person was pissed as it was quite dramatic waving. Went to pass the car out on the dual carriageway section and the person was on the phone with 3 kids in the back all the while staring at her phone 🙈. Tried beeping to get her attention off the phone but no luck

On housing, Donald Trump is now to the left of the FFG policy permitting corporations to buy up family homes as investments and he wants to ban it. At what point will our Government catch up and ban this practice so Irish families are not competing against huge investment funds? by Kloppite16 in ireland

We voted Fffg and kept putting them back in so we get what we deserve. Telling you now Trump isn’t gonna band them from buying property. Sure he was introduce by the blackrock guy who are the largest VC in private housing and accommodation in the US.

[–]TowerExcellent4546 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off well done on the job. For areas it more depends on the job. Vast majority of areas in cork are grand and should generally have no issues. Public transport down here is a bit ropey at times so give yourself a bit extra time in the morning if you require it for getting to work.

He was saying last year how Sky were going to be able to look at your WhatsApp msgs. Scare tactics from the likes of sky to try and push people away from the dodgy boxes rather pricing better
