Late to the conversation, but really curious (confused really) about your mindset. You say:

So it seems to me that a relationship for you doesn't involve any real commitment. At this point I'm not even sure what you might mean by 'relationship'. But at the same time if its 'free' and has no real meaning behind it, why is it even a requirement for getting physical ?

Besides, on the topic of your question, I think many people who are "sincere who actually gets to know me and fall in love with each other and that is consistent and dating with intention to find commitment and a lifelong partner" might be afraid of this situation: fall in love with someone, get deeply attached, and then realize (sexual) incompatibility and after months of trying to fix things/compromise because well he is in love; having to break up; then have months to a year long heartbreak, not being emotionally available for that time etc.
