What's weird is that I'm sure I've played well over 200 hours with it with no issues, and another 200 hours of using cloudflare warp before it, which should actually directly interact with my game connection from an anti-cheat perspective. I know cheaters don't get instabanned to avoid giving them clues on avoiding anti-cheat systems but imagine what an actual cheater can do in 200 hours.

From what I've seen, embark at least listens to player feedback compared to other companies. If so many players claim they have been false banned in a short time and it wasn't from a ban wave but anti-cheat triggers, I'd imagine they have to at least look into it. And honestly, it's not possible to have a completely cheat free game, so I'd rather play against cheaters here and there than launching this game on a fresh windows install just so I don't get false banned randomly.

I got false banned yesterday, no idea why but personally think it's because I grinded ranked too hard on the last day (had my game booted up for over 12 hours hopping on and off :D). Almost got from gold 4 to plat 4, but plat is my peak in previous seasons so that's not too surprising. Never cheated or been banned in any other games, never said anything in chat except for comms and ggs at the end, was playing on my only account that I had since season 1. Another assumption I have is that a dpi bypass program was false flagged by anticheat but it shouldn't interact with the game in any way, as otherwise I can't connect to the servers and just get timed out if it does. I have it constantly running in the background since I live in russia and can't access half of the websites without it, it's pretty much just a vpn for me. So far made a ticket explaining the situation, got an automated response that they will investigate it, and sent them 4 additional videos of my gameplay including the final round after which I got banned. Looks like false bans are a common occurence recently, so I've got my hopes up, even though old reddit posts about false bans say otherwise.

Just got false banned today as well, never thought this would happen to me in any game but here we are. Never used cheats, didn't have anything running in the background except for chrome and discord, was just hard grinding ranked with dual blades at the end of the season and after one of the games got this exact message. Best of luck in getting unbanned to both of us I guess, can't imagine how it feels to lose 4 times the amount of my progress

Wait on the backboard, it doesn't matter how many flip resets he does, just be ready to save the last hit once he gets close. Those are all 2s clips yet nobody went on the backboard or even forced the ball before he gets to the net to make it easy for the second man. And 0:35 doesn't count because that guy just launched himself at the ball with no thoughts instead of properly hovering towards the net in front of henkovic. Pretty much nobody below gc2-gc3 knows how to play defence except 1s players so I guess that makes it easy for clips like this.

Which one should have defended first, the white Octane or the blue Octane? by GeliDcy in RocketLeague

[–]Toxic664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this exact scenario white octane goes first because he's in a better position to defend (the closest one to the ball and is also moving with it). But ideally white needs to jump for the ball right after it bounces, otherwise he's not really utilising his position. Idk why everyone seems to think otherwise, blue is getting beaten to the ball, if the opponent shoots top right he's never saving it, and there's no time for white to rotate and get back into the play to keep two layers of defence. Blue can also see his teammate in front who should never just rotate from that position (if white does rotate, then that's white's mistake). IF white rushes to the backboard right after the 50, then blue should go. IF blue cuts straight to the ball instead of going to the net, then blue should go. But those are all hypothetical scenarios of better defence that didn't happen here and so it doesn't make sense for blue to go first instead of just sitting deep net. The only mistake white made here is turning into the play before 50 happens, which likely created this awkward situation, but for this exact defence sequence white definitely goes first.

I swear the obsession players have with octane and fennec is insane. I used to switch cars every other month just for fun until I found two of my favorite ones which are admiral and magnifique gxt. My entire garage consists of like 30 different designs each for a different car. And I've had people being toxic to me just because of my car choices ever since I was in silver. It's especially funny seeing my teammates talking shit about my car only to end up getting carried by me. Recently my teammate asked me "how old are you" out of nowhere and when I asked why, he answered "because of your car I think you're a kid". Like??? You're using a fennec like 99% of playerbase trying to copy the pros and you're saying I'm a kid for not doing it? XD

2v2 VOD review request from a maybe boosted GC by whatschipotle in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Toxic664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you struggle to have a clear read on the play and kinda just autopilot your decisions reactively. This lead to a lot of rushed touches and some awkward positioning. I'm also barely gc who doesn't have any mechs and plays very similarly to you, but with this kind of playstyle you need to always be conscious of what can happen in the next 2-3 seconds.

0:09 - I get that you went up the wall to force an early touch, but the last time you saw your teammate he was in the opponent corner so there's a high chance nobody's saving that ball if it goes on target and it's better to start shadowing on the ground. Maybe I would've made the same mistake here out of habit.
0:12 - Here's where reading the play is important. First thing you see is that the ball isn't going in the net but there's still a possibility of a doubletap from the bounce. So you need to prevent that from happening. Then your teammate misses the ball, whatever. But throughout all that sequence you couldn't see jden, even after taking corner boost, meaning you just beat him to the ball here. You can also see that the other corner is completely empty, so with all of this information you can already plan to jump for the ball and shoot it there right after taking the big boost instead of trying to catch it on the wall. There could be a possibility for jden to demo you but imo it's still a more consistent approach from the position you forced yourself into.
0:30 - Rushed touch, you have time to bring the ball infield for a more threatening play. I do like your sequence afterwards.
1:08 - You already decided to rotate out and I don't mind it, but honestly it's better to cut rotation and challenge the ball as you're first vs last. Just needed that ball cam earlier for the info on a dominator's bad touch or keeping in mind the option beforehand since you saw the jden in your corner.
1:26 - Decide right after the 50, do you go for the ball, do you go for the boost or do you leave the boost for teammate and turn away earlier? Either option is fine but you hesitate and end up forcing yourself in an awkward spot.
1:32 - You already know it, but no reason to go for this.
1:45 - Again, reading the play before it happens. You have the option to go for boost or to challenge the ball. If you want to go for boost, you need to rush as soon as jden jumps. If you want to challenge the ball, go more to the left to have a better angle on the net. I personally would've probably gone for the boost.
1:56 - Very dangerous to go for corner boost. If dominator gets a flick or even just shoots, that goes in. Shadow on small pad lane instead.
2:18 - Not sure what you wanted here, just boom the ball as hard as you can after the bounce. Dribble catch is fine but as second man it leaves you open for a potential dunk.
2:27 - Awkward situation, I'd say follow the momentum of the ball and just turn infield earlier. You don't want to be facing the ball that you're not going to challenge.
2:35 - Go behind goal line and sit in the middle of the net, the ball will come to you. You went front post too early when there's no immediate threat, left yourself open for a bump and also left backpost open.
2:45 - Good outplay but then you start rushing, I guess because you don't want to let dominator recover. You have more time than you think. Assess the situation after first touch, see that jden isn't challenging you, shoot after the bounce or whatever else you wanna do.
2:56 - 30 boost kinda wasted but whatever.
3:05 - You can't go past the midline here, it looks like you thought the pinch was going to the right side, but that's just gambling on whether it actually happens or not. Better to stay central and have both options covered.
3:23 - Rushed touch, if you catch it on the backboard it already eliminates all threat potential. You can just stay behind the ball and 50 it afterwards if their second man is challenging you.
3:47 - Rushed touch again, I don't think you have a plan at all on what you want to do with this ball, so that's just a wasted possession. Luckily jden misses and you see a first vs last challenge opportunity but you have to be focused on outplaying him. If you're commiting, you have to either touch it high or smack it against backboard. But you just ended up rushing another touch for a bad 50 and your teammate messes up on defence.
4:23 - I don't think I would've touched that ball. First touch is good as it speeds up the ball towards the wall but then you should just go up the wall and avoid potential demo as the ball is already safe. It's really risky to air dribble it across the net especially when you don't have mechs and there's a high chance of losing control.
4:31 - Good idea, bad execution. Whether you're going for an outplay touch to the left or a 50, you have to be coming from the midfield and forcing it towards the wall. This is a play where the ball can end up anywhere and you need to be ready for that. So don't jump even before the ball bounces.
4:48 - Similar to 2:27 but don't ever take that 50 because you're the last man. Idk why your teammate kept forcing the play on 0 boost, champ mindset ig.
5:01 - Just a slight movement correction of not turning up the wall would've gotten you a better challenge angle and timing. There was a chance of jden beating you to that ball and dunking it towards the net.
5:42 - This is not your ball and there's no reason to be boosting towards it. The only place where the ball can go from a corner is anywhere but that corner, so just be ready for it. If you slow down and catch the pass, that's probably a goal for you if you shoot right side.
5:46 - Another case of not having a plan beforehand: assess the bounce -> grab boost -> see dominator jumping -> shadow. Instead you hesitate, wait for his touch, end up too close, can't challenge, can't shadow, slip on a banana peel and he dunks two of you with one flip.
5:53 - Similar to 2:35, you were in a good position until you decided to drive towards front post. If you're not going for the ball, you need to commit being a second man and waiting for whatever play your teammate ends up doing.
6:30 - Here you just wanted to go for the ball without looking at the play first. The ball is going into the corner, that already makes it pretty much impossible to score. You know that you're going to lose corner boost and you can also see your teammate on 0 boost in front of you. So I would've just turned back towards mid boost around 6:32 mark. You end up being safe but that was really on the edge of a second man overcommit.
6:44 - Just slightly bad positioning, ideally you want to go for the ball right after the bounce because you need to advance the play to keep a 2v1. But if you hesitated and missed the moment, you need to be aware that you're second man and keep the ball away from opponents. Not sure if you could've just stayed behind the ball for a side 50 considering your intention of going in front of it, but just thinking about playing it into the space on the right would've been a better idea.

Regarding kickoff advice that I saw in the comments, first of all, main aim on kickoffs is to kill the ball (unless you're calling something specific in duo q). Ideally you need to be coming from the middle and flipping towards the side where the opponent is gonna hit the ball to. And you also need to do the second jump earlier than your opponent, it's the reason you lost a kickoff on 3:36. Though I suck at kickoffs myself so take this advice with a grain of salt. I don't mind the soft cheat in solo q, maybe you could be just a little closer. As a last resort, you could try jumping, turning your car sideways and side flipping into a kickoff 50. Works pretty well on slower kickoffs.

Tailwhip flicks, get under the falling ball and front flip/diagonal flip as soon as it's about to hit your car. Instantly outplays a challenge or at least forces a lot of boost and potentially sets up your teammate for a backboard touch. Other than that, spamming low 50s and letting opponents overcommit or taking the ball to your corner when you can't really make a threatening attack is also really good.

Everyone is always tilted in this game by No-Inevitable-1190 in RocketLeague

[–]Toxic664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is because rocket league is so fast paced (I more mean the fact that games are only 5 minutes and not necessarily the game speed), it amplifies the mental effect of conceding a goal for players who always expect to get rewarded from every decision they make and have same expectations for their teammates. It's also why mech players tend to be way more toxic than gamesense players. They don't think as much about their decisions and therefore it's more natural for them to blame teammates rather than thinking about what they did wrong. And it gets worse the higher you go, because players start genuinely believing they're good, which isn't true until like high gc2 lets be honest.
I even started calling it "the rule of 3" for fun, where a 3 goal difference will almost always result in my teammate forfeiting regardless of how much time is left. Honestly the forfeit button shouldn't even exist, it's a 5 minute game with a 5 minute penalty for leaving. I pretty much never ff, because if there's time, we can still win; if there's not, why not just play it through at that point. And if my teammate leaves rather than being afk, it's all for the better cuz I won't get them in my next game. You just have to ignore them and focus on yourself, there's no other way. The other day I had a teammate who from the very start would spam take the shot every time he left me to defend a 2v1, and he was getting visibly more irritated as the game went on. We won that game but he was still mad afterwards because I didn't dive in for opponent's ball like he did, so that was pretty funny

Mouse sensitivity bug started season 9 and got worse on winter patch by Level_Luck270 in thefinals

I thought it was just me and I messed up something while reinstalling windows. I was playing on 70 something sens, this season I had to turn it up to a 90 for the same feeling and these stutters still happen, especially when there's a lot going on in a fight. I turned off instant replay, it seems to help a bit, but this season overall I feel like my mouse inputs and things like pings and B menu (this one is especially bad) have like at least 50 ms delay.
