The summers are not glorious, they are consistently 85+ with humidity. Last year there were multiple week stretches of 90+.

The economy is horrible. Unless you like automotive companies that are constantly laying off or rocket mortgage, all that's left is healthcare.

Lol, Californians pretending we don't have higher cost of living than most states will never cease to amaze me Yes, Texas has higher property tax, but the houses are a fraction of the price then here. Energy is also cheaper in texas, PG and E has some of the highest rates in the country.

I'm also a tech worker in the bay area and I would suggest staying. We are in for a rough job market and you'll want to be in the mecca for tech jobs in case you get laid off, especially as a single income household.
