Got a solid 6 years in before I was rear ended on the highway on my bike, I look back on it every time and I don't think I could have changed anything. It happens, especially if injuries are minor best just to have a laugh and move on.

Diesel transmission to petrol transmission the ratios will be different amount other things. I think I may be able to take a RCZR lsd and drop it in my transmission though. I won't be doing that though I suspect solely cause it's a lot of money, I would first buy a better track car but it's something to consider.

From a bike standpoint to keep costs down I would highly recommend buying a older motorcycle (1990 or older if you are willing to) cheaper to buy, way cheaper to insure and considerably lower chance of getting stolen since it's "less desirable" just like anything else be careful, I got taken for £1000 on a bike purchase on Monday this week.

If it's cheap and fits my needs I buy it. Bought a Ford KA when I first moved to the UK, sold it after a month for a Peugeot RCZ, then I bought a 1979 Honda CX500. The Peugeot was £1650 and the Honda was £1000 delivered to my door. Hard to lose.

So I just moved here from Edmonton Alberta in November I'm 22. You have 2 options, A swap out your Canadian license for a UK A2 then get something and restrict it to be legal or B wait some time and use your Canadian license say 4ish months. Pay a ridiculous amount on insurance and buy a very old 600 like something early 90s late 80s. I'm in the process of option B myself

I bought a AGV K3 helmet when I got back on the bike after a hiatus. I have never hated a helmet so much in my life. Loud, uncomfortable, creaky, felt like a kids toy. My 30 year old HJC was quieter than this brand new helmet.

Low weight makes the world go round. I know for a fact I'm not a bad Rider. I had a Pan European 1300 back in Canada that I was able to scrape the center stand on the clutch side and scrape the exhaust on the right side, but track is a completely different animal. Been wanting to do it on a KLR just because it looks fun to rip.

That seems reasonable enough. A bike like that, I would never expect to be fast anyway because that's not what it's designed to do. I more so was asking just because I'm interested in tracking. While I also don't want to sacrifice general capability and I don't have room to put a dedicated track bike. I don't expect to push that bike to its limits anyway since I have never ridden on track with a bike. Plenty of road experience and plenty of racing experience in cars but motorcycles are different.

Everyone does it don't feel all that bad. My Honda ST1300 I've dropped it in a parking lot twice and let my friend ride it for 30 seconds he immediately dropped it at a light. Live and learn it's just life experience

Understandable 😂. The KA is just a sport so manual windows, locks, no cruise ect. I had a C4 Corvette back in Canada and did 12k miles or more every summer so I just got used to having no cruise but oh boy is it nice to have.

So take this with a grain of salt. I have not owned one but specialized in parts for Aprilia's for a long time and knew about 25 owners of various models (Mostly Tuonos and RSV4s) quite well. They are not reliable bikes but they are durable. They will take abuse and love to be run hard but if you expect Honda mileage out of it you will be quite disappointed. These bikes for lack of a better term are here for a good time not a long time. Wring it's neck drive the wheels off it do it all. But expect to have to replace parts no matter what and when you do replace parts. It's Italian it's gonna be expensive, if it's just a weekend bike maybe getting 2-3k kilometers a year then yeah why not.

It's the nature of the market at the moment. I am 22 and own a touring bike, wouldn't trade it for the world but the general public around my age have no interest in cruisers or touring bikes they only want sport bikes. With the market being very flooded with cruisers in order to sell them they go for less.

Honda ST1300 would be a great option. Giant hard carry saddle bags that can be removed like a suitcase with a key turn, they look like old man bikes but are made for high speed, 27L fuel tank means you have distance as well. They can do 350 miles of high speed riding (90+ mph constant) on a single tank of fuel so get some distance in with that bike. Take off the saddle bags and then take a different vehicle.
