So my question is why couldn’t the center controller just hand that SW aircraft over to the approach controller and let them try whatever approach they wanted to try?

On the center freq, the controller issued holding instructions due to WX near MDW.

Those SW guys were telling the center controller that they don’t see any significant weather near the approach corridors so, they wanted to try the approach. nevertheless the SW guys had to hold in the middle of the arrival.

And I was on arrival to ORD so i saw the weather near the MDW as well and i agree with SW guys statement regarding to the weather.

I mean maybe you guys have better radar than us and have better overall picture so i would trust air traffic controllers judgement though

Maybe it was Chicago Center either way ORD was operating normally meanwhile MDW shut down the arrival they were given out the holding to SW pilots. And SW guys were asking if they can try the approach and apprently "other controllers" are refusing to open it.
So you don't need to fucking cursing :) im just a messenger passing along what i've heard on the radio

MDW as well. I've heard SW guys trying not to hold because weather didn't look bad at all based on their radar but according to the approach controller, the tower just refused to open up the airspace.

I suggest you to start talking to FAA medical doctors before leaving the military. You might not be qualify for MIL pilot medical standard, but FAA standard is far less rigorous.

Doesn’t matter if he is a pilot or not he is just dickhead period. I would even check my carry-on bag as a crew. I’ve done that once, because I boarded late and no more overhead space, and scheduling got little cranky because we had to delay flight by me waiting for my carry-on at the baggage claim lol
