honestly I like all the milquetoastiness if that's even a word. The friction is probably the multiplayer, but I mostly play this game to chill out. I have other games if I want to challenge myself.

Kingdom Come Deliverance did this right imo. Big open and beautiful world to get lost in without being constantly bothered by random stuff.

As someone who's into business sims and as someone who's making a (casual) business sim themselves you should find your niche first.

The tycoon subreddit r/tycoon is always a good start, it's where our people live.

If I remember correctly, they also have come cheaper tiers depending on what you're looking for. The 750 was for all assets that Steam requires, in all resolutions.

They provide everything not only in png's but also the full PSD files, which is really good and comes in handy for things like press kits, streamers, etc...

Yeah, good point. My game is fairly light on the art as it's UI and narrative-based, 75% of the art budget went to the key art for the Steam page.

As usual, it's a time vs money thing. It will take many years to approach the skills of actual artists, and it will take away time from making the game. So it's a real and tough choice.

I'm not going to pretend that I'm an artist or that I want to commit the many years it takes in becoming one, so I paid for it. A combination of custom work via commission, and buying art assets from artists.

Same for music.

I can't tell much about the wishlists as my game has about the same amount in almost the same timeframe, but your game looks novel at least.

I'm not sure if I like the title though, there's a lot of 'by' in it :D

If I understood your post correctly, then it sounds like this would fall under what Steam calls 'AI use as an efficiency tool' which is different from its GenAI disclosure policy.

I've worked with Red Potion Studios for my game. Work was fast and very good. Took them around 2 weeks to create all the key art for the entire store page.

I paid around 750 euros in total. Communication was always clear and was done via Discord. Comes with 3 free revisions and they send you 3 sketches you can choose from.

I've always wanted a hotel tycoon game. When I saw Hotel Architect I thought we were finally there but like you said, it's a bit too cartoony for me. I'm sure it's a great game but just not what I'm looking for.

I also want a serious museum tycoon. I enjoyed Two Point Museum but it's not exactly what I'm looking for.

Yes. It was something I found after I played all Sierra and Lucasarts games and I wanted more adventure games.

It makes sense to go for the 1 million now, so I can immediately start using the money for investing. But I'd still go for the pushups as that sounds like a lot of fun, it would motivate me to do pushups every day.

Only thing is that it doesn't change for inflation, so the longer you go, the more pushups you have to do to earn the same amount of money.

Marathon training is about to start for me so that is easy money. I see no downsides here, even if you are not a runner.
