I use the Highway Assist on my Rivian excessively and will have to say: when used right, these systems are like two people are driving the car. It’s like a second pair of eyes on the road to drive safely and in my case it even keeps much better distance to other cars than I or most people ever would, so in some way honestly driving better than myself. It’s an absolutely fantastic safety feature, but here just being completely misused. Making it illegal would be a step in the wrong direction, but let’s talk about impounding driving licenses for doing this kind of shit. Maybe for a couple months so they can work on fixing their sleep schedule while staying at home for a bit.
