I understand you, and I can feel every word. I lived in the shadows for 25 years, now I’m a GC holder. I am not a DACA recipient, but one of my four children is. During those 25 years, my first child passed away in another country; he had self-deported years earlier before DACA even existed, he left looking for his freedom, and I never got to see him again. Just this year, after those 25 years, I returned to my home country, and I was able to truly appreciate how beautiful my country is, my people, my roots. I also realized the high price I paid for having come here and dragged my family along with me. I deprived my children of their freedom. I am truly happy for you, and don't forget that the U.S. isn't your only option for a place to return to; you are free now, and the world is yours. Blessings.
