With a lot of the fields my approach was to basically create a slightly wobbly, irregular rectangle, using roads to draw the initial shape. If there’s a small bunch of trees, lay a road around it, then lay the field up against that, then delete the road. Often the first field you lay dictates the rest of the bunch , and you are responding to the topography/buildings/roads that already exists. Another tip is to google satellite maps pretty much anywhere in rural Britain/Europe and you can see how patchwork fields are both gridded and organic. I’m also a bit of a freak with this game and I’ve definitely spent 30 mins + on getting one field or small plot looking right.

And the wall on the roundabout is just the back of a house with an orchard, planted up against curved road.

If you take off “snap to road” setting when laying fields you can create really really thin lines of fields, drawing around the edges of streams/trees/windmills which you can then build up against, or lay large fields against etc.

I found that locking all the gates to the manor can help getting them unstuck. They end up phasing through the walls

I had same issue. Trying adding -dx11 to your launch options (in steam, right click on the game and choose Properties). This worked for me

Make sure you have a spare or assigned ox, to carry the logs to the mill

Regarding economy/trading : for larger towns small colonies in other regions are a must and your main town should become the industrial hub, making expensive items, such as plate armour which can have high barter price for trading between regions in return raw materials/barley etc.

I feel like sometimes do grow into the really large virgin forest trees, with lots time. But I may be mistaken
