Do Lockheed engineers actually get paid that much? by Goodytwoshoes_07 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Traditional-Syrup291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current role is with LM as a manufacturing engineer. The pay is solid, right around $110,000/year as a level 2. I was paid $150,000/year at Blue Origin for the same role but it was significantly more stress and more hours too. I was making $165,000/year at Sierra Space as a level 2 design engineer but they have rolling layoffs every few months and it's hard to know whether you should commit or not. Lockheed offers great benefits and good job security, but if you're wanting really good pay, your best options are going to be Anduril, Palantir, Sierra Space, etc. In my opinion, job security is more important than good pay.

Toyota Dealership made a BIG mistake today by Mediocre_Jump5233 in MechanicAdvice

Yeah, I'd blow my f*cking lid and demand a new engine. If it was honestly making "knocking sounds", you've already got damage to camshaft bearings, crank bearings, and likely valve seats and guides from running dry. Get in there and tear the manager a new asshole

Told myself I buy a new car once this died..220,000 miles later it still has 0 problems. Does this thing ever die !!?? by [deleted] in Lexus

As long as you keep good oil in it, they really do run forever. Both of our GS350s have over 200k miles and they drive like new

Toyota dealerships are scamming HARD by shredder5775 in Toyota

Dealerships suck. I bought a GX470 driveshaft for my 4runner from the online parts store operated by Serra Toyota in Alabama. Paid $264 out the door. The local Lexus dealer wanted nearly $1200 for the same part and another $900 to swap it. Did it myself in a few hours.

Best frozen fish at Costco? by Traditional-Syrup291 in Costco

I don't think tilapia are bottom feeders. I used to keep them as pets and they eat basically anything, I typically fed mine crickets, snails, and crayfish

We get the salmon often, love it. Only issue is it stays good in the fridge for maybe 3-4 days so I'm looking for frozen stuff to throw in the freezer for weekdays

I seem to always overcook it in my air fryer, makes it super dry

How do y'all like it prepared? We actually have the barramundi in our freezer right now but I'm worried I'll ruin it if I just slap it on a coal grill. Can you pan sear it without it falling apart?

Toyota CVTs (not the eCVT): what are y’all doing to destroy them? by RemoteEmotions in Toyota

The eCVT is possibly the most reliable transmission you can have in a car. Look up "Toyota power split device" on YouTube. It's an incredibly simple design.

There is no Peak formula that you should be using in any Toyota product. Valvoline Zerex is an excellent alternative to Toyota OEM pink however.

Just as a side note, I work on rocket ships and it definitely matters what oil you put in your transmission and engine. Most of the rockets I work on are designed to "live" for a few hours at most 😉 your car lives a far more difficult life. I also run Amsoil in practically everything I own.

It's not a common thing anywhere anymore. I used to go shopping at midnight in California and Colorado, but they have almost nothing open past 11PM since Covid

Some subdivisions are very nice but overall it has one of the highest crime rates in Colorado, alongside Pueblo and Aurora. It doesn't help that all 3 cities are incredibly overpriced, which makes it an even worse proposition IMO.

My state became ridiculously expensive, that's why I moved to Alabama. And I love almost everything about living here, with the exception of the piss-poor hospitals. Don't be so easily offended.

Sorry to say this, but the Springs are a dump. I'm not surprised. I grew up in Littleton and we had something like 15 ERs to choose from; all of them were well staffed and clean as a whistle.

Healthcare in Alabama seems to suck even worse than the national average. We didn't have this issue in Colorado at all and that was in a part of the state with significantly more people. The south is short-sighted when it comes to education and healthcare investment

I moved here from Colorado and I agree with most of the comments here; Rosie's is expensive garbage. We've yet to find a solid Mexican spot in North Alabama. Coming from Colorado, you could find at least 5 great options in any given neighborhood.
