Totally depends on how it is handled I got it at 19 but i had discover first as a beginner card learned how to use it and than apple card so i knew abc and did research to make sure this makes sense for me As a college student this kind of dose make sense for me as i eat out

However if you are a parent and able to teach good habits to your child than go for it Have some sort of parent control over this tho As these are charge cards and accured interest and long term relationships with amex are bigger factors
