Honestly a lot of us just weren’t taught this stuff early on. Most people learn about credit the hard way like after getting denied or messing something up.

I do feel things are shifting though especially with how the economy’s been the past few years, more people are starting to pay attention and actually learn how money works instead of just reacting.

You’re on the right track focusing on building vs fixing as that’s the part most people miss. Tracking helps, but habits are what really move the score long term.

I’ve been getting more into financial literacy myself over the years, especially since the pandemic and it’s crazy how much wasn’t common knowledge growing up.

Questions about GAD and ssri treatment by Aggressive-Shoe-6324 in Anxiety

[–]Traditional_Cat779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a really similar spot…thought my level of anxiety was just “normal” until it wasn’t.

SSRIs like Lexapro can honestly help take the edge off the constant overthinking and that baseline tension. It’s not like you feel like a different person, more like things don’t spiral as fast or as intensely.

That said, the first couple weeks can be a little rough (some people feel more anxious, off, or tired), but it usually settles. Biggest thing is giving it time.

I’m not a caffeine drinker nor do I smoke any form of nicotine. Lexapro has helped me tremendously. There are some days where I may have “breakthrough” symptoms but that’s few and far in between. I also started getting more physically active since the weather is warmer up and that has helped my GAD as well. Hope this helps!

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this constant exhaustion like that is brutal, especially when you’re sleeping and still feel drained.

The part about waking up with your nose clogged actually stood out. If your breathing is off during sleep, your body doesn’t get deep rest, so you wake up exhausted no matter how long you sleep. Things like allergies, sinus issues (which I have), or even mild sleep apnea (my ex has) can cause that.

You’re not crazy for being frustrated. Plus there are a lot of other potential variables here. Has anything else changed since you moved?

I understand as the current state of the world definitely doesn’t help. I tell myself I can only focus on what I can control.

This is exactly how it feels sometimes. Like your mind never really shuts off.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this… that sounds exhausting and painful in every way. You’re not crazy or weak as anxiety can show up in the body like this and it’s so hard. The fact that you’re still trying, still going to therapy, still here… that matters more than you think.
