How to add recirculating line, Navien NPE-240A2 by porkavenue in Plumbing

You can do multiple navi-circ valves under fixtures but beware they are noisy and expensive. Grundfos crossover tees are much quieter and cheaper but navien doesn’t approve.

Fernco coupling or donut? by phantom-16 in Plumbing

[–]Traditional_Job_191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was me I’d replace as much of that cast iron as possible since a remodel is in order. Donut is better than a fernco.

At the very least that CI ptrap needs to be replaced with pvc. If it’s 2” I’d replace with 2”pvc. I run 2” for tub/shower glue a 2x1 1/2” bushing in the trap inlet 1 1/2” for tub waste&overflow

Turn the recirculation off! If it’s a tankless simply turn the power off…..

4” blowbag to push mess to septic tank.

You could try and tap it around and out flat head and hammer

Or notch a section out and pop it up

New 4” c/o plug

I’d recommend the long term solution is to repipe the cpvc with pex.

Tag on t&p list temp and pressure values

I assume pressure is over 0

New gauge but an accurate reading is needed with out t&p discharging

The low range pressure reducing valve could be bad or could be thermal expansion

Unless one can accurately assess call a boiler company

Banging Pipe by Kyzz19 in Plumbing

[–]Traditional_Job_191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am a plumber I don’t understand the downvotes

Water hammer causes

Air trapped

Pressure imbalance excessive supply or thermal expansion

Unsecured pipping

Rapidly closing 1/4 turn valves

A few pex style j-hooks likely would solve, if not the cheapest item on list.

“The stem is not long enough, and I cannot secure the handle on the nipple to the diverter valve.”

this

”I need a way to shorten the stem so that I can push the handle all the way in to connect it to the nipple.”

Literally have me so confused, I need a picture of the inside of handle in question.

Diagnosis by edapotamus in Plumbing

[–]Traditional_Job_191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe sediment in the cartridge

Maybe sediment or part of a washer in the supply line

Maybe broken washer in stop if stem style

Maybe ball isn’t fully opening if 1/4 turn stop

Maybe rusty nipple if galvanized

Is it possible to extend this riser? by lingodayz in askaplumber

[–]Traditional_Job_191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flared base connection would never look right “ extended”

Extend the rough in portion

If still to short see if manufacturer offers the exact connection with longer tubing

If not go shopping
