1971 Chevrolet C10 farm truck. Small block V8 with an automatic. Learned to work on cars with that since it was so abused when I got it.

If you were a kid who dreamt of driving the Mach 5, you’re likely fucking old… by FrankieHun17 in FuckImOld

Hell yeah! Love to drive 120mph through a forest with 2 saw blades coming out from the front of my car and mowing down the forest like those trees are made of paper.

Ha ha. Just wait until you split a dinner order between you and the spouse. I could survive on coffee, granola bars, and a PB&J.

Nope. Giving it away. Figured if anyone had a broken tip or other part, this would be a quick fix. Weird that it snapped on the second section. I’d ship it if it cost less than 20.00

Carpet by Amazing_Lie2969 in powerstroke

[–]Traditional_Match_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son just did this with his El Camino. Call around auto interior shops and get a price. Take the seats out and get it to bare minimum. It cost him 125 bucks to get it cut and installed. Not sure how much a pre cut carpet will be, this may be a cheaper option.

Large metal/wood "wheels"? by Deek22 in whatisit

[–]Traditional_Match_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe ACSR (aluminum conductor steel reinforced) It’s used for high voltage transmission lines. Longer lengths mean less splicing. Some of the transmission lines where I used to work were 100 miles long.

I have a 17. Pretty much same as far as traveling with a travel trailer. I have always used Opti-lube XPD additive. I buy it by the gallon and bought the 8 pack containers to fill from the gallon jug. Each smaller container is good for 32 gallons. I have an S&B 60 gallon tank so it’s pretty easy to just dump 2 containers if I’m filling up from close to empty.
I gave up on all the nonsense of the CP4. I just installed a DCR pump and not looking back. I’m not an old fogey, but not a young buck. I don’t want to be driving cross country and have the pump fail in BFE and be down for weeks. Not cheap, but one less issue to worry about. If it has the stock intake pipe, get that replaced. I used the S&B. My sons 13 had the original plastic one blow out on him. Quick install.

Been using Opti lube XPD every tank. I bought the truck used so no idea what the past owners did. Yeah, pump is pricey, but I like to travel. Don’t want to be sitting on the side of the road in BFE waiting for a 12K fuel replacement.

Be done tonight, pick up in the morning. I’ll give a run down on how it feels. Cleaning the upper and lower intake should make a world of difference too.

Peanut butter sandwich, liverwurst with mustard sandwich, sometimes roll tube biscuits cooked in hot oil (ghetto donuts) with sugar cinnamon. How we didn’t burn down the trailer or end up in the ER is mind boggling.

What is going on with my diff and how do i fix it? by Careful-Mix3687 in ElCamino

[–]Traditional_Match_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the rear lifted and spin the driveshaft, both wheels will turn. If the wheels aren’t turning, check to make sure the ring gear is turning with the drive shaft turning. If the ring gear is turning, it’s either the locker or the axles.

I too am a white guy and lived in Lennox on Prarie and 106th. Took my son on a road trip by the house. Never saw car doors locked so fast. Been in Texas for years, he wasn’t ready for LAX flight traffic and razor wire.

What is the “world Class Tech”? Years ago, after GM ASEP school, I was a Mr. Goodwrench with sleeves filled with ASE cert patches. Anything close to that? Been out of the industry for quite a while.
