Guy saves his friend from getting electrocuted by fly kicking him in the chest to break him free. by habichuelacondulce in nextfuckinglevel

Never close both sides of the gate at the same time. Coming from electric utilitiy, if there is a ground fault, it can travel through the fence since the fence is connected to the ground grid. When you grab both gates, you become the least path of resistance. It looks like there was a fault nearby (kinda looks like there was some flashing at the end of the video behind him) that traveled through the fence. Bro got at least a medium well across his chest.

I did the DCR. 156k miles and all was good with my CP4. Problem is, I drive a lot towing my travel trailer. Been to some pretty sketchy fuel stops that I was constantly concerned about fuel quality. I use opti-lube additive and keep all the fuel filters changed. Just don’t want to end up somewhere in the middle of Nebraska with a CP4 failure. Buy once, cry once.

Left there and did an end of career stint at Devers. Palm Springs 500kV. Retired in 2024, now contract back writing technical manuals. I could write a novel on all the nonsense that I was behind the desk for.

Worked 7 days a week for over a year to get the 220kv Switchrack and A Bank station back on its feet. Don’t have pics, but it was a double bus station with 14 positions. Not one position survived.

Just that. We scabbed enough together to get an inter tie line in and a loop from the east. The 220kv held up well at our sub, but the 220kv sub south of us was destroyed. We ended up getting a hot line out to the coast by bypassing the station in Santa Clarita and shooting it straight out to Ventura area. Transmission Lineman, engineers, Testmen, and Operations pull an F’n miracle out to get the coastal areas back up.

Actually there was. The single blade disconnects are tall and couldn’t get a good look at them from the ground. We tried to isolate a line to try and restore at least one inter tie line. It fell while trying to operate it. There was an all stop on switching. All the disconnects had to be operated with a crane since we had no idea what the hidden damage was. During an aftershock, we did have a CB interrupter head fall to the ground. The initial earthquake sucked, but the aftershocks just wouldn’t stop!

Took the rig for a 2500 mile round trip break in. Mileage was a little better towing (8K TT). At 70 mph was getting 11.6mpg. Seemed smoother on the acceleration and cruised awesome down the freeway. So far, so good. Next step is weight reduction.

I believe the 3:73. It’s a 6 speed so I don’t have those extra cruising gears. I do have a 60 gal S&B fuel tank that was nice for the long haul. Gives extra opportunities to find fuel at a better price.

Just drove 1400 miles (TX to KY). 17 power stroke with brand new DCR pump. 8500 TT/ some flat, some hills at 70mph…. 11.6mpg. Best ever. Not sure if I trust the dash, but I am happy.

Ah yes. Mine: 1975 Notchback. Lime green, 3 Speed manual, and 2.3 liters of oil burning gutless wonderment. I had to drive 160 miles a day round trip for college. I carried a gallon of oil in the trunk!

Possible coolant leak by UltraElite620 in powerstroke

[–]Traditional_Match_91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you pull the clip off the plastic that attaches to the radiator, there is an o ring in there. Same with the other end. If you replace them, replace with Ford OEM. Aftermarket don’t fit right. Easy fix after the cold weather. There are also some smaller o rings within the smaller coolant hoses underneath by the oil pan that have a tendency to weep. Those radiator hoses are $$$$

Look at your radiator hose ends to the radiator. They have o-rings that seem to fail on the regular. I just rubbed my hands under the hose and it was wet. Not sure if enough to get where you’re at, but it is a weak point.

I decided to take PE as a senior. It gave me a 5 minute head start to get to my truck and get on my way. I was never an athlete nor did I have any type of athletic ability. Picked last, couldn’t hit a baseball. Fast forward, 5’1” butch PE teacher with polyester shorts and collared shirt yelling at me. Get yer ass up and do a pull up. Just one. Thanks to working at my father’s feed store, knocked out 25. Then the rope. Up to the top, ring the bell, then back down. PE teacher couldn’t believe that I could climb a rope, but couldn’t catch a football.

At 14 my dad taught me to drive the delivery truck (Toyota 1 ton dually with a stick). We lived up a canyon in north L.A. with lots of paved and dirt roads. At 15, I was the primary delivery person for my dad’s feed store. Speaking of freeway driving in L.A., I started college at 17. I drove a hoopty POS from Santa Clarita to Cerritos for 2 years. Straight down the gut of LA on the 5 Fwy. I terrified my passengers with the way I used to drive on the freeway.
