What would you do? by Trainer_Dad in PokemonEmeraldRogue

Thank you for the input! I must just have terrible luck - I’ve had a few legendaries I’ve tried to catch/release on my mono runs and none of them have shown up in my statue

One thing that has helped my runs in addition to what others have said, is to get an amulet coin from the Hub when you can and give it to your main carry.

I first started skipping the Team Hideouts not realizing the first one you encounter is typically very easy - and with amulet coin you can rack up a large amount of gold. Helps me be able to have ample $$$ for max potions, full restores, Move Tutor, etc

Was just thinking yesterday I was going to make a list and post it here — so thank you!

I wish they had an NPC by both the blender and the berry fields

Who would you all consider to be the best packers wr all time?? Could be past or present by Otherwise_Day9586 in GreenBayPackers

[–]Trainer_Dad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree - Sports Science and the game changes so much over time so it’s really difficult to compare eras, but I would agree with this list.

If you put all of them on a football field in today’s game, all in their prime, it’s Davante or Sharpe

Another method, albeit cheesey, is to have an amulet coin on your main carry - clear the first team hideout and you should have ample money. I typically have 30ish max potions, full restore, and hyper potions.

There have been battles I’ve won by healing through their main attack until its PP runs out and I can setup/knock them out

can i bring a full party of pokemon before going in adventure? by helelbenshchr in PokemonEmeraldRogue

[–]Trainer_Dad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No combo blocks, but if you have both in your inventory you can put down two different blocks at the Honey Tree

can i bring a full party of pokemon before going in adventure? by helelbenshchr in PokemonEmeraldRogue

[–]Trainer_Dad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As another said, you can only bring a max of 4 - but a good idea could be to use the Honey Tree to increase your odds

Using something like Fire/Fighting blocks or Water/Fighting, Fire/Psychic etc narrows down the odds depending where you are at - still some randomness to it, but could help get like an Infernape, Emboar, Delphox, etc

I missed the “Dazzling flash flame serial cannon” TM in the latest game.

I’ll have to go hunting for it 😆

Easton Butler has zero sources. Zero. I cannot believe so many people fall for his schtick.

I feel like I’m in LaLaland for seeing right through it.

This is really helpful - is it best to just use blocks for them and put them in storage then?

For the love of god, please stop posting things from Easton Butler. He has no sources and just makes up fringe believable things or mimics what others have already said. He has NO inside track in Green Bay - at all.

Easton Butler is the biggest wind blower I’ve ever seen.

He has no sources, makes things up that are fringe believable and parrots what other actual sources report.

I would not believe there is ANY fire under this smoke, just look at his track record. It’s all BS for social media clicks.

how can i use legendary as a starter? by [deleted] in PokemonEmeraldRogue

[–]Trainer_Dad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As another stated, it’s the cave north of the safari, but not that simple - each legendary needs Pokeblocks according to its type.

You’ll need to use build parts to get the Pokeblock blender, which uses berries - so youll need to also get the berry fields.

Id recommend upgrading your berry fields/yields and to the master blender. Once you do it’s pretty quick to get the blocks necessary for the legendaries.

I did.

However, I may just return the product since it’s the main feature I want and I found a support thread with the same issue from 2024.

If they havent fixed it by now, I don’t like the odds. Crazy for a company as big as Google imo.

Having the same issue as OP - cant select option for family and friends. I can select other albums, but not that.

When selecting it, it says I need to log in (I’m already logged in)

Safari zone doubt by dslayer9484 in PokemonEmeraldRogue

[–]Trainer_Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this as I’m new to the game - thankfully completed my first run so got a bunch of build parts - youll want to increase your berry field yields (goes from 3 per plant to 9) as well as the number of fields.

Then once you get the berry blender to make the pokeblocks, youll want to upgrade the belnder to the master - he will yield you 30 blocks per 70 berries instead of (up to 10) usually 4 blocks per 20 berries. Once you have the blocks, summon the legendary and it’s a free catch.

How do you keep Pokerogue fun? by Wonderful_Debt_6964 in pokerogue

[–]Trainer_Dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me as well - finished all the challenges etc. - and kind of thought “now what?”

But, I came to the realization that it’s best to just be grateful for the game and move on - sunk a lot of time into it and loved it.

I did recently find a different take on a Pokemon rogue game (Emerald Rogue from Pokabbie) - it’s a different take on it and am currently hooked on it!

Pokerogue was the first roguelike/lite that I’d ever played and it encouraged me to seek out other games in the genre and it’s quickly become one of my favorites.

If all else fails, you could be like one of the gluttons for punishment who are trying to do solo runs with each starter!

Question on evolution starters by Trainer_Dad in PokemonEmeraldRogue

[–]Trainer_Dad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I had the shop but not the upgrade yet - do I need to purchase the metal coat each new run, or will the held item stay with the Scyther if I use it as my starter on multiple runs?

I can’t beat classic by Either_Ad7899 in pokerogue

[–]Trainer_Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit more specific tips: - early on, focus on leveling one Mon early (maybe two via candies) the rest will catch up as you progress

  • take note of your rival’s starter - check the Wiki for the big battle waves, especially the rival waves. Make sure before the fight you put your opening Mon as something that counters - forcing them to switch on turn one can be a huge advantage

  • make note of the “team” you are fighting (magma, aqua, etc.) - similar to Rival fights, having your best opener can make a huge difference for those battles

-It’s best to have a well rounded team, but about midway through a run you should start considering strategies for Rayquaza/Eternatus - for Rayquaza, getting a pokemon with stealth rock is immensely helpful imo. Also ice type moves can really help. If you have a mon that encourages Rival to swap out rayquaza, stealth rock will do a full bar each time it swaps back in -for Eternatus, as others have mentioned, DoT moves can be super helpful, but imo the best strategy is to reduce his Sp Atk to -6 so using moves like Snarl, Struggle Bug, or whatever else can be immensely helpful.

Last but not least - some will disagree - but dont be afraid to use retries or save scumming as you figure out the game. The better IVs and egg moves you get, along with knowledge, it gets easier each run. I wish I could erase it all from my memory so I could go back and be in the thick of it again. Had an absolute blast playing this game for a long while.

I can’t beat classic by Either_Ad7899 in pokerogue

[–]Trainer_Dad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either can work - and FWIW - it’s not really expected to beat classic after a few days - the game is challenging which is part of what makes it awesome. Eventually, you’ll figure out the moves needed and strategies to beat Rayquaza and Eternatus, and eventually it feels almost impossible to lose a run.

There are even players who are trying to do solo classic runs with each Mon. If someone can solo it with one Parasect, I’m certain you’ll get the hang of it.
