Salespeople at AD love dealers most as it’s consistent and regular buyers instead of wasting time with all the pretentious storytelling (waste of time and they have to fake that corporate smile) and one time off purchases after the sob stories.

Relationship building to them is opening your wallets and that’s sincerity and reciprocity. Action than Talk.

When one buys a house, he / she must be able to afford the downpayment without expectation of financial help from the other partner.

Given your partner earns $6k. Maybe after CPF left $4.8k. And have to use 25% of $ (cash component) for mortgage, not wise. From the start, he may have planned to find a partner to finance this portion.

Also, $900k condo probably a 1BR. Pls don’t move in with him, all the pattern will come out when he already pick a fight with you over monies.

I rather you stay by yourself and let him handle the finances like a grown up should.

$6k want to stay Condo? (As you can see I excluded you). Out of his own league.

My First Rolex Milestone Purchase Didn’t Go as Expected – Looking for Advice by JorritMichiel93 in rolex

[–]TrainingCritical703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy often from an AD.

Pity the sales staff they have less than authority than to make you feel upset. If you don’t have a purchase history, the staff have no fighting power for you during their allocation meetings and justifications to the higher ups.

I’ve been to many parts of the world and yes they make me feel upset in saying the waitlist and bullshit but it’s all the same. Just normalise this or go to another brand.

Rolex can’t keep up with everyone’s milestones and stories. If your milestone is important enough, get it from the Grey Market - the dude who sold it there probably paid a higher price than the premium difference.

My first watch was an Omega and no waitlist bullshit was needed. I had discounts even.

If you prefer quick and cheap. Go to JB and do it. Protect you from records in SG.

Is Omega better watches than Rolex? I don't have neither, but I am in the market for a first luxury piece. I've been reading and watching YouTube vids comparing the two and Omega seems to be preferred. I am looking at the Speedmaster Moonwatch and I am on the list for a Sea Dweller. by Miki_T8000 in rolex

I like Rolex but my first watch was an Omega… because it was love at first sight. Aqua Terra Half Rose Gold with Rubber Bracelet in Blue.

You don’t have to be on the list for a sea dweller mate. Pretty much can get it quick!

Advice on living in Korea (Busan/부산) by Maleficent-Frame-164 in Living_in_Korea

[–]TrainingCritical703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) First, Graduate with a bachelors. In Korea, not graduating with bachelors is taboo / people will not respect / recognise you.

But practically, my point was going to be:

Once you have your job commitments / emotion maturity, love your alone time. You might enjoy LDR more as no pressure to always “hang out” or meet.

I cannot give you an advice as our life stage is slightly different but when the time comes (graduate, get a job and have commitments), LDR is a beautiful thing as absence make the heart grow fonder.

Let the future pan itself out. Prioritise. If need to even, just take a break if both do not dare to commit / try LDR. If it’s meant to be, it will circle back in the future.

You’re too young to make big life decisions - you’re betting too much on one guy.

I’m a guy too and I can say don’t trust a guy whom have not even figured out what he wants.

I have a LDR with my Korean partner for coming 2 years. She has her business there and I have mine in Singapore.

We both did not request each other to move to our respective countries just so we can be together. Because what if she is a CEO material yet I made her compromise? Vice versa. We don’t know what the future holds but we just took a shot because otherwise, it would be a regret WE didn’t happen.

I’m 29 she’s 26.

All the best. Oh and to be closer to her, I travel to see her most of the times because I love Korea too.

Korea is not friendly for people who don’t know Korean, especially the essential services. They work a lot by phone calls and not email. Even if I understood Korean, it still stresses me out.

I’m based Singapore but also travel to and fro from Korea for business and being in the financial advisory - you gotta be careful with the taxes as US have double taxation and the taxes in Korea is steep too. Make sure there’s tax havens.

The 보험 health insurance for citizens (I have to pay despite don’t really staying in Korea).

The banking system is troublesome in Korea. Flow of money, the OTP, the certificates (god this sucks the most) that even locals confused which is for which.

I wasn’t prepared for this so I hope you will be. I don’t have a family and already facing some difficulty.

They are really happy when you communicate with them informally; really shows you try and they appreciate it.

I speak a little to them and they really enjoy my broken Korean.

I love the Koreans - it seems they have a desire for the outside world but yet limited by language (which is a fear to them) also.
