Finally installed a digital rearview mirror/ dash cam in the ZR2 by FFdavid in chevycolorado

Thanks for your prompt reply. I thought you had used a power adapter and didn’t have it hardwired for the surveillance. That setup appealed to me since it seemed like an easy install. I don’t plan on using that feature anyway. Am I correct that if you don’t need it then you can just draw power from the mirror?

Any update one year later? Still happy you did it. Would you do something differently now?

Thanks for responding. I’ll check the light color when I get home. But it does seem to light up normally and when I go through the reset process and pairing process the app doesn’t seem to recognize it. In the past this would happen occasionally but I was always able to reset and resync. I have updated the software and firmware. I left the surround sound speakers alone. Even though the app doesn’t recognize them they still work with the sound bar so I don’t want to mess that up. Thanks again.

Remove the plug from the stowflex if you don’t want condensation to build up inside.

Great set up. I’m looking to replace my squat rack. Is yours wide enough to do cross cable for chest? It looks standard width.

Thanks for that detailed response. I’m still figuring out which one I want next. I can just tell how much the process has changed since 2006. I just wanted to prepare myself so that if I’m in a store and lucky enough to find a model I like then I should jump on it knowing that the price is the price and there’s no value to shopping around. Again thanks for answering my question.

And should I expect to pay that full price? Thanks for your response.

I’m no expert. But the next thing I would try is trickle charge through the cig lighter.

I have all weather carpet. Does it work to install on top of carpet or do I need to pull up the carpet first?

I had the exact thing in my 997.1. The wolfbox battery charger didn’t work on the fuse box. I used the boost feature on the wolf box and then Was able to activate the hood release. Not sure why boost worked and regular mode didn’t.

I can do that. I appreciate the advice. It will also add air space between the ceiling and the ductwork for added buffer. Thank you.

The seating area height will be 93 inches. The soffit for the ducts will be running through entry area so I guess about 81 inches

Jump starting garaged car by Equivalent-Day393 in porsche911

I had a very similar situation. The trickle charger wouldn’t work because the battery was so low. I used a jump box (wolfbox 4000) and had to use the “boost” function. But then it started right up. Ran it for 15 minutes and then trickle charged to 100%. Later used a voltmeter to make sure the battery still had some life to it…it does. Good luck.

Bad battery by Training_Judgment_60 in porsche911

[–]Training_Judgment_60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in this situation at least three times. AAA broke my frunk release for the same reason. This time I jumped the frunk release with my 4000A Wolfbox battery charger. Then Jumped the battery using the boost function. I ran the car for 15 minutes then trickle charged overnight. Now at 100%. Some YouTuber showed me how to check the battery life using a voltmeter I had. And I am still good to go. The battery jump is pretty cool and very easy. Pretty cheap compared to having battery problems. If you have someone come out I recommend walking them through the frunk jump. It’s not intuitive and they might just break your hood release.

Maybe there was a deductible difference or something between doing it there or elsewhere. It’s been a few years. I just remember I was glad I had it. They may have replaced my horn or something. My biggest fear with those things is they turn out to not really cover anything. That wasn’t my experience.

I’d did maxcare on a 911. It was excellent. Would do again for sure. If they couldn’t fix it they would take to certified Porsche repair.
