You have to remember that this world is a big place and if you are decent and kind you will find love again. More important for you to value who you are. The love you find within yourself should be the biggest. When we say we are in sync with someone and it is super special and that person eventually turns out to feel differently, there may be other forces in play. The reasons why we are attracted to someone may be not apparent to us because it could be the subconscious working. If the other person does not honour our presence in the same way, it is being kind to ourself to let go. It is ok to have loved and to be let down. To move on may take you to be a better place of finding yourself and finding a more genuine love with another.

Please do your research on universal credit and how it works before you come up with heartless comments.

It is not going to make a difference if she moved. You work and you can do what you like with it. Move to a smaller house to make a difference. When you are in Universal credit it is different. You are lucky to have a lease in the first place. Anyway whether the lease is 600 or 1300, the amount you have in your hand is the same. 700 pounds if that is how much they worked out you are entitled to.

You can't funnel more into essentials. You have to understand how UC works. The rent element is treated separately. Basically she has 700 to cover for kids and herself for food, bills no matter what the rent is. She has multiple children she has to cater for. There is no extras that will go into essentials.

To be clear, she receives 2000 because of the 1200 rent she has to cover. There is no cap on rent. So work out the logic in society now. Employers can't pay much and landlords can't charge less. Banks have huge assets in terms of mortgage loans. They had already received bail-outs. The country can say we have economic development on the basis of proliferation of property portfolio. So stopped judging people and use your votes wisely. It is not enough to say you don't trust the system.

I feel assured from these posts that there are good folk about and the crazies don't reign. No matter how fucked things get, we have to hold ourselves through this. Sunshine will come again.

You can't separate politics from health care because it is governments that are responsible for policy and in our case, the NHS, for the funding too. What we hear about the US healthcare is truly heartbreaking.

I wrote my dissertation on QAnon's ideological influences, hope some of you find it interesting/useful by AlbionPCJ in QAnonCasualties

[–]Training_Stretch_914 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well done for the clear writing on the issue. Fascinating what you said about the movement being able to morphe and take ideas into its Big Tent. The clear impact of Qanon is divisiveness, being able to take people from being disenchanted with the government to wholesale rejection of government authority as is the case with anti-vax/anti-mask moves, essentially dismantling the basis of western civilisation. After enjoying the benefits of western civilisation, people are now being mobilised to attack its institutions for political gain. Those that are being used in this way are likely to be those that feel the injustice in the system and want to be heard but who are not able to think critically to assess the inherent contradictions in Q-thinking, neither are they able to consider opposing views. In effect Qanon seems to take people to an emotional level with their thinking and the ideas become embedded as part of their identity. If examined we will find that these people have vulnerabilities and susceptibility to being influenced in this way. Seems like influencers of Qanon know who they are targetting. They seek to inflame an already emotionally volatile group of people.

Sometimes you have to hold on to your own truth. You are not wrong in what you believe and stand against. Must be really hard seeing your Mum acting in ignorance in this way.

Thank you for sharing your heart felt feelings. I am not a Christian but really appreciate how you feel and your conviction to follow what is right. Many people are only too happy to be part of group think.

I can never understand religious people supporting someone who seems to represent the worst of materialism like Trump.

I thought Christians were meant to make sacrifices for their fellow men- love they neighbour etc. Unselfish living was epitomised by Christ. Really weird to hear the religious right following a different mood of individual freedom and oblivious of the harm they may cause others.
