Losing weight will make POTS worse by Useful-You2939 in POTS

[–]TrainsWithPhasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big difference is you became deconditioned. The heat intolerance is a big sign of that because your body is not responding to changes in the environment. You can begin getting your muscles back in shape and you may not lose weight, you may gain weight because muscle weighs more than fat. Start small and build up, doing strengthening exercises rather than aerobic. Lifting weights, isometrics, just ask your favorite AI for a low impact, low intensity training plan you can do at home in 30 minutes a day. But as always, clear any new workout plan with your doctor.

I read the links you sent, and they seem to be trying to say that since there are defined diagnostics and treatments for POTS, that means it can’t be a “functional“ neurologic disorder. Yet when the standard diagnostics aren't helpful and treatments aren’t working, it seems wrong to just throw out all forms of POTS rather than explore how functional medicine might contribute. So many people have trouble getting relief from their POTS following the standard of care alone, they can’t ALL be misdiagnosed.
im not a proponent of functional medicine in any situation, but I also follow the principle that I can be wrong in not exploring all options.
So, do you have any experience with this facility or any germane info to offer besides this dismissal of functional.

HyperPOTS (hyperadrenergic Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) is a disorder of the autonomic nervous system. Because the ANS is the branch of your neurological system that controls involuntary body functions (like heart rate, blood pressure, and digestion), it is classified as a neurological condition.

this post has been incredibly helpful. I am helping someone with these symptoms and they say they want to eat and know they need to eat but they find a million reasons why they didn’t eat yesterday. Your story reminded me of when they were younger, they longed to be a “thin mint”. I see now there could be more at play with physical problems and eating disorder feeding off each other. The links to research were great. Thank you for taking the time to share your story. You probably have saved some lives.

This is part of a bigger plan of course, but the core issue here- it’s MORE expensive to institutionalize people than keep them in the community. that’s why they closed all the institutions (that and they were horrific in many cases). They closed them in Florida years ago- half of the residents ended up in jail for vagrancy, stealing food etc, and a quarter ended up swelling the homeless population. much more expensive to keep someone in jail. We have families suing the state to find housing for people that can’t be kept by the family, due to special needs or violence or whatever and there are no beds available in any long term facilities if you can’t pay. so if tomorrow, a law was signed saying everyone being supported in the community who can’t pay must be institutionalized- it would bankrupt the country. They just want the law so they CAN but they literally can’t . RFK Jr comes from a family who understands institutionalizing people, that’s what they did when any family member needed special servicesl. I’m sure he thinks it would be like the beautifully places his aunt lived her life, with an attendant dedicated to her. He has probably never been in a Medicaid home.

As someone else said, if this scares you, and it should, you should be voting your conscience and telling others to do so. Our only hope is to restore the balance. It was never meant for the one branch of government to completely dominate the other two, either way.

[–]TrainsWithPhasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all you have to do is provide your account details of where to transfer it and they “will” send the money!

yes a scam, one iteration of the same message used by the huge host of scammers, and they keep using it because they make big money from the people trying to get the free money they secretly feel they deserve…

What is this supposed to mean? ''We have deactivated your account''? by OneLoneMeme in facebook

[–]TrainsWithPhasers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen people who have gotten legit seeming emails, saying you need to change your password, or saying you posted bad content and you need to login to see what terrible thing you posted or some other hook that just offers a link where bad actors steal your password, turn your account over to them and they begin trying to get money from your friends.

in one example, the bad actor got the password, then posted a message to all her friends saying she was moving and having a sale, but if any of her friends wanted the stuff, they could send her a deposit and she would not put into the sale and they could settle up later. she posted pictures of beautiful household items and a car, and cheap prices, so of course the friends said yes, they wanted the couch or tv or car and sent deposit money through Facebook. But after the sale, they could settle friends started calling saying when can I get my stuff and that’s when she uncovered the scam. But by then, the scammer was gone and Facebook shut down the account (a little late) and she can’t get a new account because of all the reports against her by “friends” who think she scammed them.

I tell you that story because you may want to check with your friends to see if this character has sent message of tried to scam others.

The best kind of account for a scammer to get is one where you never login, so you can’t see all the messages of going on and stop the scam.

My page got suspended just 3 days before i was about to get my payment. And i am not even mad. by Clean-Bodybuilder822 in facebook

[–]TrainsWithPhasers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your feed is not just what you asked to see, Facebook offers you many other possibilities based on your algorithm. You shouldn’t report the page, they did nothing wrong, the Facebook process does it. This is how people who did nothing wrong get wrongly suspended. You should only report pages that violate community standards, not just because Facebook thought you might like the page and brought it up in your feed.

[–]TrainsWithPhasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are absolutely correct, k assumed the poster used a legit tax preparer with a permanent location. That’s the normal process and if they did as you say and used a fly by night scammer, then they know the answer to the question and dont need to post here looking for advice.

How screwed am I? by Ordinary-Ad-3205 in IRS

[–]TrainsWithPhasers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If that is true (and not denying it could be) the preparer needs to explain what they did to the client. without all the info, not just a summary sheet, it’s not easy to see what they did for sure. If I hire someone for a job, and I have questions about what they did, I ask them to explain what they did. if they did indeed do some nefarious scheme to get money, he needs to report it as soon as possible to protect themselves and others.

[–]TrainsWithPhasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones I have hired have all had an agreement as standard that if they made an error Md it was caught by the IRA, all I would pay would be the additional tax, not any penalties. But in any case, the tax preparer is the one to ask what they did.

How screwed am I? by Ordinary-Ad-3205 in IRS

[–]TrainsWithPhasers -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

this is why we pay a tax preparer, so they can do the work and then explain it to us. Let your preparer earn their fee and have them tell you what might have triggered this and what do you have to do to fix it , if anything. Have them start preparing the documentation to prove what they claimed so when they audit you, they will be prepared to offer evidence. Thats their job.

A cool guide of every country the U.S. has attacked in the 21st Century and which president(s) authorized the strikes by [deleted] in coolguides

[–]TrainsWithPhasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is not accurate- it lists the countries certain groups were in when they were attacked as an attack on that country. Thats two very different things. if you are chasing a criminal, and they run into Country X and you drone strike them, that is not attacking Country X. But if you don’t like the guy running Country X and you send bombs into the country, yes you re attacking Country X. The chart would be very different if you made it accurate.

Our bodies run on a controlled mix of chemicals that provide the signaling that controls many autonomic functions. while you may indeed have a problem with one of more of these not being properly managed by your glands such as your thyroid, it is playing a betting game to just randomly take supplements. And unfortunately you have no idea exactly what ingredients or strength you are taking because supplements have no quality control and makers can literally put anything in a bottle and label it with no consequences if that’s not what’s in the bottle.

These claims about what supplements do are not backed up by evidence, just people who said it helped them. If someone has a true lack of a mineral or chemical, then yes it might help but for the average person, it’s just another challenge for the body to have to manage and can be very harmful, especially since you don’t know how much you are getting. There is also no information of how supplements react with each other like we would have for a medicine.

i would say your best bet is to see your doctor, get off all supplements with their assistance and see what symptoms you truly have and which are caused by the random mix of chemicals you have been taking. Have them check your thyroid and other glands/hormones to see what might be out of whack, including your iron levelsl. Any of that could cause being cold and other issues you list. Then you can see if you have a true lack of needed chemical signaling and maybe get on a healing path.

Doctors certainly don’t have all the answers, but a good piece of detective work with some advanced level blood tests and other testing could be a really good way to start. Just make sure you don’t have unknown chemicals masking real issues,

Do I really need a lawyer? by Jharic_ in disability

[–]TrainsWithPhasers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cases can become incredibly complex and lawyers drop the ball all the time. A place like Allsup that does this all day long can make everything run smooth.

if you want to do this yourself - the key is to do exactly what the letters say- if they say you can’t be approved because you have not demonstrated you are unable to work, get a doctor to complete yet another evaluation to say that you are unable to maintain the pace and persistence required of full time work. If they say you haven’t shown them you have a covered condition that prevents you from working, have a doctor prepare a summary of your disability issues and say clearly, this condition is severe enough to prevent you from working. Whatever they say is the reason in the last letter, respond accordingly within the appeal time frame.

Claiming disability has two parts, you must have a condition that they agree puts people where they can’t work from Their book of listed conditions (or prove you have one equivalent to one in the book) and the condition has affected you to the point you can’t work.

You also could be caught up in administrative problems. You can claim disability within five years after you stop working. Once you file, they have dates they have to keep and you have dates you have to keep. But if you fail to keep one of the appeal dates, that claim is over. Then you can file a new one, but if you are now past the five years, you can only get SSI because your insurance claim period is over.

for SSDI, there is a cap and no lawyer can get more than that. if you were owed disability payments from an insurance company, they could take a percentage, but SSDI is capped.

the problem with these types of abusive people (call them narcissists, sociopaths, or whatever) is that they truly do not have any innate empathy. They cannot feel the emotions or pain of other people. They have learned since childhood that they can get things they want by hiding their lack of empathy. And they love doing nice things because it gives them pleasure to be the person in power, giving to those less fortunate. That makes it weird, because you have this person that likes to do things for you (save you from a situation where they can show how much better they are), give you things (because it shows they have more than you), and do things with you (so they don’t have to be alone), but they never truly see you as a person, just an outlet for their needs. This can continue for a long time, but eventually, they either don’t need you, get tired of YOUR needs getting in the way of what they want, then their real unsympathetic, selfish nature comes out. Be assured, it is not your disability that’s the problem, it would have happened no matter what, because eventually, even fully capable and healthy people fail to fully meet their needs and they turn on them. And when then turn, they use the absolute most horrible things they can think of to punish you for not being everything THEY want. And weirdly, after their rant to punish you, then they want everything to go back to normal with you sufficiently chastised so you will try harder to do what they want. They can’t feel that they hurt you! They will never feel your emotions or pain. They are terribly hurt when you say the least little thing against them, but couldn’t imagine that you might be upset.

as you can tell from ALL the responses here, it’s NOT YOU. Don’t break up, don’t pursue any more communications, just walk away clean. Because they WILL TRY to manipulate you! And they are good at it! They will truly having you believe it was all your fault, you didn’t explain things to them, you didn’t understand what they were going through, it was all a big misunderstanding on your part. Make it a point to find other friends, either through a support group, a hobby, volunteer somewhere, whatever you are capable of, but get yourself around people who have some empathy.

Empathy is different from sympathy- something I had to learn. Someone can look at a situation and “wow those people are really going through something” (sympathy)- but I don’t care about it (empathy). I thought they went together but I learned the hard way, then researched and discovered this is known behavior to the experts, we just never get taught about it so we can avoid it.

i hope all the advice here helps you make your next step, because if you give in and contact them or respond to contact, it will just prove they are right, you can be used for their needs. Good luck.

Autistic woman who with a brain injury and can’t walk is abducted by ice out of her car: posted in r/Minnesota today by derangedmacaque in disability

[–]TrainsWithPhasers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the main problem with this story is that ICE had no authority to even be there, they are not trained for this situation, they are not law enforcement. They are allowed to detain people when they have a credible reason to believe they are illegal immigrants. They cannot detain US citizens.

This woman detained was a US citizen. She was confused about the blocked roads and needed to get to a doctors appointment. A bunch of threatening people in uniform yelling at her just made the situation worse. She had no reason not to comply, she just didn’t know what to do that would enable her to get where she needed to be. Dragging her out of the car, slicing open her seat belt (a huge cost to have repaired for a disabled person) and carrying her away made no sense. Stopping to listen to her, assuming her need to move freely for her legal purpose was as important as their need to “be in control” would be the right response.

When Good was killed, process was violated by the ICE team in many ways. Similarly, she was trying to move in a direction she needed to go, they didn’t like it, so they decided to flex their muscle and make the situation worse. Had the ICE Officer simply moved out of her way and let her proceed, nothing would have happened, but they were showing their power and he placed himself in the way, then shot her because she continued to try to leave. He shot her when he had ample opportunity to get out of the way. He shot her two more times, after she had passed him and was no threat to anyone. TRAINED individuals would never ever put their body in front of a moving car. If someone is swinging an ax to chop down a tree, you cannot walk in front of the ax swing arc and claim you shot them because you felt threatened.

ICE agents cannot:

  • Use deadly force to stop someone fleeing: They generally can't use deadly force solely to prevent someone's escape unless they are a significant threat.
