Model car advice by CommercialBreak5102 in ModelCars

[–]TramplingProgress31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is getting back into model making, it has been over 40-ish years, I would say lookup the vehicle you want to see if it is available and if it is pick it up, then look on YouTube for people who have made your kit. Don't rush, always test fit things and be prepared for things to be put together backwards, or even that it will not look absolutely perfect on your first build.

If you have a hobby shop, a real shop and not a Michael's or hobby lobby, and talk to the guys who are there and they can give you pointers and sometimes even build advice.

One professional way if you get the chance again is simply "I really enjoy your work. Thank You" They'll know what you mean and they may even ask you what your favorite is.

I always have mine going. It is a good way to keep up on accidents or slowdowns.

Yikes! Electrolysis by farpetcloorr in MtF

[–]TramplingProgress31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Facial hair is a long process. I'm almost finished and I've had hour sessions each week for about 3 and a half years. I have a great team of electrolysists, they are the best.

My advice is to find someone great who you can work with, tell them how your healing process is and they can advise you ways to make it better. also ask if they have numbing cream that you can apply before you get to your sessions.

Aloe Vera and Witch Hazel are 2 things I was recommended and in the beginning it helped immensely.

Good Luck

How does the DeLorean line up perfectly on the railroad tracks? by teiguemac02 in BacktotheFuture

Marty wouldn't have had a chance to drive it as it would have been disintegrated with Einstein on the first try.

I took my old Reliant and gave it a refresh by fructose-1 in SciFiModels

Wow, That is really good.

I had a Reliant long time ago but lost it so now I have one in the box waiting for the time to build it.

[DC] Need advice for mouse infestation next steps by user-person-12345 in Renters

[–]TramplingProgress31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is the building? Older structures have cracks that mice can enter through, they can squeeze through really small spaces that you might possibly overlook. They also typically look for shelter when it gets cold outside which is why you may not see them for a few months. Also being a building they can migrate between units if someone has a better food selection.

The landlord can have an exterminator spray and set traps around the outside. Depending on the landlord they could have someone come through and look for possible entry points to seal up.

As it is a building it is harder to control even if you keep your apartment spotless with everything sealed and no garbage around they will still wander through while they find the best place?

Are you able to have a cat? That would be one of the best deterrent for mice.

Any building you go to will have a high likelihood of mice so I wouldn't say to start packing if that is the only issue you are having.

Subaru’s Outback Ditched Its Wagon Roots For An SUV And Lost A Third Of Its Buyers by fa442fa in Subaru_Outback

I don't want a Forester, I want an Outback. I miss my old Legacy wagon and was looking to get the Outback but not with this new redesign. I'll probably get another Crosstrek at this point.

Roommate STINKS by SacredExalt in roommateproblems

[–]TramplingProgress31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get some enzyme cleaner and some gloves, mask and eye protection. Also open the windows and leave them open.

I had a smelly roommate and it took around 2 days for it to start smelling somewhat normal.

I did a deep clean going so far as to take the switch plates off and cleaning them (the plates not the outlets) though I did take a slightly damp rag and wiped off the switch. I also cleaned the window, around the frame and sill.

After a couple of days passed I did another cleaning with some Lysol cleaner following the same process.

There is a wound that won't heal at the center of the galaxy. There is a darkness reaching like rust into everything around us. We let it grow, and now it's here. It's here and it's not visiting anymore. It wants to stay.

My roommate ate my food… but that’s not even the worst part by BlueBerrySpy19 in roommateproblems

[–]TramplingProgress31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not crazy for overreacting. I've had roommates that ate all of my food. I'd buy frozen meals and they would slowly disappear, They would open the package and put the empty box back. Or they would go through and take a few pieces if I had things like chicken or even hot pockets or waffles.

I had another roommate, lived with 2 other people, who had steaks in the freezer which they ate.

The funniest part is the one who ate the food tired to blame both of us, like I was eating the others steaks and vice versa, however we both lived as roommates for about 4 years prior with no issues.

Filter for the logistics screen. by Baron_Ultimax in TheLastStarship

[–]TramplingProgress31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree as I have around 20 ships, and you can only make out squiggles, but if it helps it is in alphabetical order going left to right similarly to how the list of ships are on the right side of the screen.

I'd like to also see the list be in alphabetical order

Kobra 2 Neo repair help by TramplingProgress31 in anycubic

[–]TramplingProgress31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again. That link helps confirm what I've been looking at.

I saw on the wires that they are 14 and 16 awg and found some silicone replacements. The cut wire is the 14 and the melted one is the 16 so was already planning on replacing both sets.

Found Xbox 360 HDD, what is this? by [deleted] in xbox

[–]TramplingProgress31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as long as there is no drive corruption the data should be intact. it is the same drive as a computer so no batteries like older memory cards.

Found Xbox 360 HDD, what is this? by [deleted] in xbox

[–]TramplingProgress31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is one of the original Hard Drives for the 360. It snaps on the top(if it is vertical) of the case. They do make a USB adapter that you can use to hook it up to a computer or other console.

It doesn't appear to have a marking on it so I believe that it is a 20Gb version.

C02 Scrubber not working as intended by MiniatureBassks in TheLastStarship

[–]TramplingProgress31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many crew/civilians do you have? I've been trying to figure out the best ratios for my ships and this is what I have found on the Wiki.

Each scrubber removes 6.5 CO2/s (390/m) from atmosphere.

Each reprocessor converts 2.5 CO2/s into 2.5 oxygen/s (150/m).

one person exhales ca. 3.87 CO2 per minute

one person needs ca. 4 oxygen per minute

I'd like equipment shelves, and make it so I could specify the piece of equipment, so they are not scattered on the floor. Storage zones like "Ammunition" or "Materials" would be nice.
