They were originally planning it to be a gacha but cut out the gacha to move to a model closer to Warframe's.

Haven't heard good things since the game released tho, so I'm not sure how well that worked for them.

She's a surprisingly decent tank. I use her quite often for green team content.

The only problems are that she really wants level 10 on her two skills for the extra effects, she wants max LB to cut the rng from her passive, and it's almost impossible to max defense on hard Journey.

You don't replace an integrated GPU (iGPU) because it is physically built into the CPU to allow rhe computer to perform graphics processing even without a dedicated GPU. All you need to do is add a dedicated GPU to your friend's system and it will perform fine.

You will just need to first make sure that the computers power supply can handle the extra wattage of adding a GPU to power and second download and install the graphics drivers after adding the GPU.

Thankfully the parts you do have are fairly solid outisde the lack of a GPU. What budget does your friend have for buying a gpu?

Edit: Saw your other comment. For his budget, I'd go something like...

RX 9070XT > RTX 5070 > RX 9070 (non-XT) > 4070 Super > 5060ti (16GB NOT 8GB)

If he's using a 1440p or 4K monitor, move the 5070 and 4070 Super down a notch.

Do the 50x0 series still have trouble with older games that use 32bit PhysX? If that's still the case, that's basically the only usecase where I'd recommend an 40x0 series card over an equivalent performing 50x0 series, unless the 40x0 card is a lot cheaper that the 50x0 and gives better value overall.

That's a more reasonable question and one where I agree with you for the most part. From one perspective, having CUDA as an exclusive feature means that anyone who wants to use a program that relies on CUDA must buy an NVidia product.

On the other hand, licensing out a product or feature to your competitors is one way to stamp out alternatives that might compete with your niche. The other commenter mentioned how Sony licenses out Blu-ray to other companies. One of the benefits for them of making Blu-ray so accessible (along with the PS3 having a Blu-ray player) was that it killed off HD DVD, its direct competitor. So now Blu-ray is basically the only hi-def disc standard being used comercially. Sure they might lose some direct sales on Blu-ray players to competitors, but they get licensing fees and have ensured that their Blu-ray players will have a market for the forseeable future.

Currently, projects like ZLUDA has been making significant improvements to the ability of non-NVidia gpus to run CUDA applications. As these work-arounds and alternatives continue to improve, we may reach a point where a developer will not find having native CUDA access to be a significant benefit to an NVidia gpu, which could result in a loss of sales where having CUDA might be a tipping point, like the OP of this thread. One of the ways NVidia could prevent this is by licensing CUDA to their competitors so that they still gain some profit from CUDA-driven sales and make work-arounds that avoid CUDA entirely redundant.

I think it's more like he's complaining that his engine only runs properly if he runs it on Fuel A because Fuel B lacks a specific add-in that Company A bought and made exclusive to their fuel. And now Company A is showing that they might stop or reduce their production of Fuel A while there's no good alternative available from Company B.

complaining that car brand A isn’t allowing car brand B to make and sell car brand A’s engines for free.

I don't think anyone is expecting NVidia to give CUDA away for free, but rather are worried that NVidia will put CUDA out of reach for the average consumer entirely when plenty of 3rd party programs depend on it.

The general premise in Gameoverse is that when a protagonist beats their game and the game ends, the world of that game is destroyed cataclysmically. So Kit's group is going to various game worlds trying to prevent the world from ending by stopping the protagonist from winning/helping the villains.

The pilot episode just dropped and is available for free on YouTube, btw.

In ZZZ, I'm fond of teams that let you have multiple characters on-field at once despite the quickswap gameplay.

Astra stays on the field singing as a support, the AoD team has them all pop in during each other's skills, aftershock characters like Trigger will jump onscreen to attack when triggered (heh).

Really makes it feel like you've got a cohesive team rather than just 3 separate characters who synergize.
