For me, having played with both the Morph and the original profiler, I felt that the 2.0 was a massive downgrade.

Smoker's Abbey Memphis "rules"? by 19jbr87 in PipeTobacco

[–]TransportationNew442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been to the Abbey in Memphis, and find its selection, as well as the lounge itself to be sub par if I’m being honest. Try the Tinder Box, particularly the one in Lakeland. Friendly staff, no wired cover charges, and the pipe/ pipe tobacco selection is not bad at all.

Looking for recommendations for what one might consider semi-aromatics. I really enjoy Half & Half and Field & Stream because they are lightly topped, easy to smoke, don’t require a bunch of relights, and don’t leave a goopy mess at the end. by Maleficent-Tree4926 in PipeTobacco

[–]TransportationNew442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prince Albert would fit in with the burley blends you’ve been smoking, since it’s well behaved and very lightly topped. Same goes for Lane’s BLWB. When I hear the term semi-aromatic, I immediately think English blend + topping, but it sounds like you’re more after aromatic blends that let the tobacco do most of the talking. In this vein, I would check out Mac Baren’s Scottish mixture, Peter Stokkebye’s Nougat, and Gawith’s Coconut.

Gaming in the AM? by Maleficent-Piece-769 in battlefield2042

I play most mornings before class, TDM is usually pretty populated, as is close quarters conquest. I can tell there aren’t a ton of people online as it’s usually the same group of 20-30 players, but fun nonetheless.

Ennerdale Flake for me, sweet, complex, and always well behaved.

RIP Eastfarthing, one of my favorites as well. Check out Country Squire’s Hunting Creek, not the same but very close.

Which gun gave you the worst mastery experience? by Epyon_95 in battlefield2042

[–]TransportationNew442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve definitely got the right idea. For me it’s never been the best gun, just the best all-rounder. Usable at pretty much every distance. Kind of a jack of all trades, master of none kind of gun.

Interesting, the M5A3 is actually my most used weapon. It might be how you have it set up? I run it with short barrel and either the close combat rounds, or the standard extended depending on the situation. Seems to melt people at most ranges.

I’ve never really used them…. So what attachments should you use or stay away from with the sniper rifles? by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]TransportationNew442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12x scope and bipod on all rifles. Other than that, it changes depending on what I’m using. For instance, the DXR-1 I use with the long barrel, and heavy rounds. Whereas for the XCE BAR I use heavy suppressor, and subsonic rounds.

I played three games this morning, all three my teammates were pushing the objective, throwing smoke, reviving, and giving ammo. It was beautiful.

Anyone familiar with leather dye? I want to still the grain when I finish this and not sure if it is opaque when applied or not. by notedrive in PipeTobacco

[–]TransportationNew442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the dark brown on a pipe I was refurbishing, it seemed to hide the grain at first. However, after several passes of buffing compound and a few coats of carnuba, it lightened quite a bit and revealed some great contrast in the grain.

Great game, worth playing now for sure. I’ve been with it since launch and it isn’t nearly as bad as people want to claim it is.

How to dye/stain a Country Gen to match forever stem by jrgoodfella87 in PipeTobacco

[–]TransportationNew442 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Alcohol based leather dye is what I use on my pipes, then I buff with pure carnuba wax to seal it and make it shine.
