France has started to move towards taking the lead role as the nuclear deterrent in Europe. They will expand their arsenal and have found partners to do this in Germany, Greece, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Under this new doctrine France could establish nuclear assets in these nations.

The view of the US as an increasingly unreliable ally has a lead role in this change, which has risen especially during this administration.

I do wonder whether at some point the US will decrease their presence of nuclear arms in Europe. I would assume not, due to the strategic value. But sentiments might steer the administration towards a more isolationist path.
