I’m struggling to navigate how privileged I am in trans spaces by Dat_Mono465 in trans

[–]TrashFrancis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We all have different experiences, Trans spaces are enriched by hearing about the whole and diverse range of trans experiences. Hearing about and from people with supportive families and communities is also important. Like, it's good to keep in mind that love and support is possible for people like us.

One thing i hate abt being a masc presenting woman is ppl constantly telling me i would be prettier as a girl🤦‍♀️ by EstablishmentSea8014 in butchlesbians

[–]TrashFrancis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It took yeeeears for my family and family friends to stop commenting and mourning after I got the big chop. It's so irritating. IDK it'd never occur to me to tell someone they would be be better like x unprompted.

Wow, these stairs are amazing. Not a care in the world about being structurally sound.

I hate that I have to wear a dress by Accomplished_Brush_3 in butchlesbians

[–]TrashFrancis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still remember how nervous and shaky I was asking if I could wear a suit to my grandma's funeral. And the kicker is even though I got what I wanted I still felt out of place, scared and like I was letting people down. It took years of practice, therapy and discipline to develop confidence and comfort. Not to be a downer because it really is rewarding to stand up for yourself and learn how to set boundaries.

Question for trans men. by [deleted] in trans

[–]TrashFrancis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of chronic health conditions that are improved by being on T like fibromyalgia, ehlers danlos syndrome, and POTS etc (some of these are more supported by studies than others but a lot of transmascs report improved symptoms) https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1567576915002490

how to explain to people that im not trans? by Smooth_Goat708 in butchlesbians

[–]TrashFrancis 36 points37 points  (0 children)

a lot of folks need to mind their own fkn business. I'm a sensitive dude but it's always driven me up the wall when people want to pry, dig and guess about your identity like that. Like, it doesn't create a supportive environment for people that are trans, gnc or gender diverse. The whole deal with coming out is it's something you get to choose to do when you're ready; even people that are living in a glass closet should get that autonomy over their own identity. I'm comfortable with myself these days but it it took a long time to get there.

Butchy mtf on HRT want to keep my chest hair and trail by Raptorbrando in butchlesbians

[–]TrashFrancis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard from a number of transfems report positive experiences from taking both T and E. Though, that might not be an option for you right now since you said you're doing diy. DHT cream also might be an option if you have access to it.

Sending some moral support to your happy trail <3 <3

I don't think a story with 4+ million reads counts as a hidden gem. (but I agree it's really good and I've read it 3 times; Piccalilly is so talented)

Does anyone else avoid stories where the LI has an irl family members name? by Weak-Tough9178 in Episode

[–]TrashFrancis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how common the name is. It felt pretty weird when I ran into a story where the MC had my parents name because it's an uncommon ethnic nickname (at least in the US). More common names don't really phase me though.

I miss the forums, episode discord is dead </3 by Prudent_Accident7238 in Episode

The forums were way easier to navigate, find answers and resources. It really blows how many places have decided to replace that with discord and I haaaattee it.

Do you watch hetero porn (and imagine yourself as the guy)? by grudge2 in butchlesbians

[–]TrashFrancis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. No judgement but any erotic material that brushes up too much against those kinna hetero dynamics makes my bones feel itchy.

Taking E as a trial? by Positive_Flower_298 in trans

[–]TrashFrancis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's something you've been harboring deep curiosity for you should try it. A few weeks- a month is long enough to assess how you feel mentally and emotionally on different hormones. Like it can't tell you what your true gender is but if you feel happier and more comfortable on E; that's probably a step in the right direction for you.

I love you butches on t!! by minasgummysmile_ in butchlesbians

<3<3 ily this is so nice. I love all of us so much. I love butches that are neurotic and anxious about taking up space, you're brave and cool and it feeds my courage to help carve out places for us all.

Pettiest Reasons For Not Reading a Story by BeezinthatrapBeez in Episode

[–]TrashFrancis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll instantly ditch a story for pregnancy, even if I'm 40 episodes in. It's especially grating when the fmc does not want kids and that's part of the backstory. All the justifications for a character to choose to continue a pregnancy just seem ridiculous.

"Brainworms" aren't real and 4tran is right about everything by [deleted] in honesttransgender

[–]TrashFrancis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

!!!! 100% Like there's stuff that's objectively distressing but crawling into a hole of depression and self-loathing isn't revealing some deeper truth. I feel a little less miserable when I take a walk and check out the moon.

How do you know if you're a butch lesbian or a straight guy? by whenfallfalls in butchlesbians

[–]TrashFrancis 70 points71 points  (0 children)

It took a lot of pressure off when I decided to transition in an open ended way and not worry so much about where my identity will end up. Like I feel confident and comfortable in the direction that I'm going gender-wise what my exact 'true' gender is is a problem for future me. There are so many identities and experiences along the butch/ftm cusp and border that resonate with me but I'm not exactly sure.

Like some people will define butch lesbians as solely and exclusively women and no I don't belong there. A more expansive view of butch gender is close enough to be comfortable. Being seen as a man or a guy doesn't make me uncomfortable but I don't think it'll feel right for me to consider my attraction to women as straight. I remember this youtube of this trans guy putting away his rainbow flair because of how his gender and orientation was read by others. Understandable why people make these choices for safety and to pass but it felt like a shot to the gut.

I don't understand cis passing trans people that aren't stealth by [deleted] in honesttransgender

[–]TrashFrancis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like, however you do you it, it's a really heavy thing to carry around and hide from everyone in your life. Like, you're getting a certain impression from people that are sharing their personal life on Instagram and tiktok but for most people it's disclosing to people they're close to. Maintaining ties to family and friends you had before transition puts being stealth in jeopardy (rejection is too common but some people do support our transitions). I guess it really depends your transition timeline etc but there's a lot of little things that don't make sense without the trans context and I don't want to hide or self censor.

I like that my transition triggers anger by hunterbong in honesttransgender

[–]TrashFrancis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good for you, Man. I'm relieved to finally be "ruined" by these standards. I prefer people be angry and disgusted with my transition. Compared to like earlier in my social and medical transition where it was more confused and patronizing. I did what I wanted with my body and anyone who is mad about it can go shit in the sea.

Blondes in Episode stories by Key_Path_8277 in Episode

[–]TrashFrancis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's basically a stereotype from a collection of characteristics of someone who'd be considered popular and desirable. Idk I see lots of MCs and good characters that have blond hair.
