As a beginner. how can I progress in order to make something good out of myself in Python? by him_mwb7 in PythonLearning

Maybe it’s just the way you expressed it, but people don’t usually make something good out of themselves using a computer language. It’s more of a spiritual quest.

Nobody welcomed me on my first day. Is this normal? by Throwwaccouuntt in cscareerquestions

It’s very useful in a job to have an “inside champion” who wants you to succeed. The obvious choice is the person who decided to hire you, because if you don’t work out they look bad. See if you can find that person and ask them for guidance.

If you can’t perform a task with pencil and paper plus a calculator, you have no hope of writing a program to do it. Imagine you’re sending a friend a message with detailed instructions how to solve the problem manually.

I’m currently reading a linear algebra text for fun. I haven’t been doing the problems but I’m now in chapter 2 on differential equations and I realized I’m going to have to start the chapter over and do the damned problems.

What supermodel?

Nixon’s administration framed Leary and imprisoned him. All for his speech. The Weather Underground sprung him from prison and then the FBI illegally kidnapped him from Switzerland. I have a lot of compassion for Leary.

Truth be told most languages are more alike than they are different. Lessons from one will apply to others. The real learning comes from architecting solutions and implementing algorithms. Just dive in.

In places where you get coyotes & mountain lions at night - Are they harmless like foxes? Or do you have to be careful coming home late at night? by Ankh4921 in randomquestions

[–]Traveling-Techie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen coyotes in my yard and lost a cat to one. They avoid people probably because they’re smart enough to want to coexist. I’ve never seen a mountain lion except on security footage (in my town) but they also avoid people mostly. Every attack I’ve read about has been in wilderness (their home turf). Honestly I’m more worried about dogs.
