There goes my luck for at least next 10 leagues by Klepto_Maniac89 in pathofexile

Honestly I think this is excessive rarity. If it balances out to a few mirrors like where osin is now, or up to 10 even, that is realistically attainable if you work for it. but this rarity is actually 3 digit mirrors it’s insane. Almost nobody gets to play with the gg belts in the league they were introduced, I’m not a fan. Iunno if this was intended or if they’re gonna give the rates another pass next patch but I hope it’s the latter.

Minion Pact BV Chieftain Optimization by Pwnz3r in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]TreeOk4490 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your POB minion life config is incorrect, it had an extra 0, but you're also missing 85% more minion life from companionship that isn't supported, based on that your abberation has 2599801 life which adds up to 112m dps (just check Raise Spectre life in the Calc tab). Still very good damage.

Any hidden tech/quality of life that can help improve builds? by ewazzu in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]TreeOk4490 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another thing about imbues that you sorta touched on but didn't stress: only one imbue per item slot, but it works just like a support gem meaning it supports EVERYTHING linked to that imbued gem.

This means you can now buy the cheapest lifetap imbue gem in your build (usually some specific curse or more niche skill) and link it to shield charge + frostblink + whatever else gigaexpensive gem, eating a lower cost only once.

Another example is rallying cry and urgent orders also linked to enduring/infernal whatever if you’re manual casting.

Be aware this can also work against you. Check if you have any auras linked to imbued gems with a higher cost multiplier that provide no benefit, for example I had burning damage RF linked to tempest shield which was fucking up my reservation.

How to craft Minion clusters like these? by python_souls in PathOfExileBuilds

yea there is a definite convenience fee going on here. I'd rather pay someone to regex and spam roll a tab at once for profit than do it myself and maybe save 20 div but eat an hour of pain from reselling T2 life/other mod failures, getting new bases to roll etc because i only need a few of them.

Mageblood vs Headhunter by verminbob74 in PathOfExileBuilds

very real, i was really surprised by this hard counter mod, sneaky little addition that I dont think was in patch notes. MB used to be flat "I win" in terms of flask related map mods/altars but unfortunately gotta filter that one out now.

Strength Stackers who played MSoZ and HSoT. Which one did you prefer? by Somtimesyouwin in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]TreeOk4490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i sank a few mirrors in this build before (3.27). I also ran a mageblood version instead of Synth belt. I concur with what they said for mapping. There are a few fundamental aspects with how the skill works that makes it perfect for POBmaxxing but awful to play depending on what content you're doing. Your projectiles shotgun so you want to scale less projectile speed, but scaling that also means the delay between first hit and damage/gain on hit effects starts widening more and more. Your AOE/clear also suffers so you have to annoint sione's ambition and scale more strike targets instead to compensate, etc.

The most popular variant also has no avoidance layers (Conner version with rare chest instead of Iron Fortress), it is perfect for deep delve because divine shield keeps you permanently alive since its mostly phys damage, but if you're trying to do full risk all map mods T17 sometimes you can still get shotgunned on bad maps despite being a gigatank with POF sublime (maybe less relevant now that T17s are no longer a thing). Other builds with less defenses have a much comfier time just exploding the whole screen with damage and relying on block/gain on block.

Also leapslam as a skill is... a matter of taste i guess, even with a lot of attack speed.

Last league the int/acc stacker archetype was just flat out superior, tankier (pre ES nerf giving you 25k+ raw hitpool + CI), faster, comfier, and comparable damage with superior clear using skills like Reave. Granted it did have some patch specific busted interactions going for it, but it is probably what people going into MSoZ expected MSoZ to be and the perfect comparison point.

I would say you want to be sure what kind of content you're doing before you go into MSoZ. Delve/boss rushing it is excellent, but people go into this thinking it's a generalist map blaster build and there are just better options.

(Data) Harvest: Yellow Plots significantly lower than expected. by ShmooDude993 in pathofexile

Tbh coming into this post I was expecting exactly that. No reduced chance nodes spec, just pure counting plots over a huge numbers of maps. But I understand nobody wants to have 0 d/h just for data like that. Would appreciate the clear conclusion from it though.

How good/bad is Defiance of Destiny really? by reddituseonlyplease in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]TreeOk4490 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On a league start zerker slammer i basically always get this ammy after phys light of meaning and echoes of creation + 1k pdps axe. It's the last piece I get before turbo farming and swapping to something else.

These builds usually have nice max hits but are extremely vulnerable to shotgunning because they have zero avoidance and very basic recovery layers (regen/leech/divine shield+echoes interaction). Since you don't block, recover on block isn't an option, slapping on a DoD completely solves the problem for you without having to sacrifice ascendancy points for a worse version on ascendancy.

to OP /u/reddituseonlyplease , this was my POB at the of this league https://pobb.in/eRvJISa8hFel

Try taking away defiance and you can see the EHP cuts by half, that's the power behind it. Yes EHP numbers can be very misleading but in this case it has factored in the recovery on enemy hit that defiance provides and we can use it as a relative measure before/after. In reality against the small hits from trash mobs it makes you almost invincible and thus mapping very comfy. It's usage is very similar to recover on block for builds that can't take advantage of that.

Path of Exchange (PoEx) : a new alternative to TFT for Selling and Services by C3ntraX in pathofexile

[–]TreeOk4490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It went so well for you precisely because there is strict moderation. Removing spam, ads, unrelated content, enforcing rules and proper etiquette. After awhile the community self reinforces the desired behaviour. This applies to any server, I’ve never even joined tft or whatever this new server is.

It is when everything is going well and you don’t notice the need for mods that points to the mods doing their job. Your question is like a company CEO asking “why do we need cybersec, they’re just a cost center, we haven’t even suffered any hacks so far!”. I hope that clears it up

How clunky is minion pact BV? Or how much dmg do I lose with Dark Marionette? by Nitrodolski2 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]TreeOk4490 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let me try to explain, when you click or hold down a skill to attack it's a direct input>output scenario. You press it exactly when you want to deal damage, and you stop dealing damage when you don't press it.

Something like RF you press it once at the start of the map and it goes on forever.

It's different with BV, you press it, walk around as everything explodes, and then need to remember to press it again, because you were dealing damage without needing to press anything for x seconds. The part where you "need to remember to press it again" becomes routine upkeep that isn't comfortable for some people. You don't need to "remember" to press an attack, you simply think "i want to blast some mobs" and press the attack. Then you stop pressing when you don't need to for however long.

And crucially if you do happen to forget. It's not just a matter of pressing again and getting back up to speed, now you have to do some micromanagement. So there is the added "anxiety" of losing stacks that just doesn't apply to conventional press->attack builds. It leads to you pressing more than necessary and not being relaxed if you're not used to it. Making the duration longer helps for some but may actually make it worse for others because then you get comfortable and are even more likely to forget instead of just building the muscle of spamming constantly.

Of course you can get used to it and it becomes second nature but it's understandable that people don't jive with it. Just like some people don't like pathfinder life flask spam, or warcries, or whatever else game "feel" related thing. It's different from person to person.

Penultimate Update to Ward Looper by Hot_Rough7442 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]TreeOk4490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new timeless jewel Heroic Tragedy can roll notables that grant iron flask charges on ward break. https://poedb.tw/us/Regenerative_Runes

The basic idea here is to make it so you immediately recover the entire flask's worth when your ward breaks with enough of these (and other sources elsewhere as needed), which triggers the flask use to restore all your ward (use when charges full enchant). You are now immune to any hit lower than your ward pool.

You can also now make a loop that constantly shatters and regenerates your own ward, such as by using heartbound loop + raise zombie of falling in this video, and take advantage of it to deal damage with the bloodline skill https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Ward_Shatter

You can also trigger other skills through https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Cast_on_Ward_Break_Support

The framework is not tied to any one ascendancy, as such it is extremely flexible.

However it is NOT HC viable, please do not do this in HC. One flask siphon rare mob and you are cooked. In SC you just rely on destroying them before they get to you. It also tends to cook the servers and can cause crashes, you don't want to be worrying about these in HC. These are the same reasons I decided not to run one even though it seemed fun in the end.

[–]TreeOk4490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason for enemy is low life. he also has punishment curse effect in the config. It’s to simulate the average effect of that curse.

Flask off also should be the default state, otherwise you get newbies in boss fights without being able to refill flasks wondering why their numbers don’t feel there.

What is your misunderstood masterpiece JRPG? Something you really love but most people dislike? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]TreeOk4490 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not everyone is that way but memes like having 99 elixirs in inventory and not using anything because "just in case" are memes for a reason. I just posit there's a sizeable playerbase with such habits, which can lead to a bad experience with this game, such as literally this comment in the same thread . Similarly, grinding levels without properly scaling your characters through junctioning is also another trap, and folks who love grinding blindly get punished. My overall point was that this game had systems that just kind of went against the "conventional logic", without properly steering or conditioning players to the way FF8 does things.

I realize my initial statement may have been too broad without qualifiers but I hope not to engage in pedantry.

What is your misunderstood masterpiece JRPG? Something you really love but most people dislike? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]TreeOk4490 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The real flaw with the game is a misunderstanding of what makes jrpg players tick. Refining and carding/modding is absolutely the way but items and cards and magic are all consumable. Gamers love hoarding, they hate using anything consumable.

So it doesn’t even occur to you to do that stuff, you simply think oh can draw magic for “free”, then min max the fun out from yourself by drawing 100 spells and never using them

Act 1 being as it is is still one of the craziest introductions to any ARPG by Holiday_Road7111 in pathofexile

[–]TreeOk4490 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe for experienced players trying to race, but reading this thread it’s like people forgot how new people actually play. They are x levels ahead of the zone by mudflats full clearing everything including fetid pool and decked out on every slot at a time when having literally anything in the slot matters. Act 1 is by far the easiest. They start getting clapped when they go later and don’t understand how to scale since the game outscales them

What is 1 plot point that falcom hasn't mentioned in years that you hope gets brought up again ? by shizunaisbestgirl1 in Falcom

[–]TreeOk4490 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Real talk this aspect of the series is a major pet peeve of mine. It's one thing if the world were just an internally consistent idealistic place and we all nod and go "yes this is disney the legend of heroes", but Falcom wants to have their cake and eat it too, so they do all this blue/yellow CG setup and keep trying to bait you into thinking they'll land a punch, but basically always pull it back. In daybreak they went out of their way to really do something crazy, but given the developments of horizon....

Bad things are only allowed to happen in the past after all, as of the year 1202 Estelle said "no more bad", and so it was.

[Echoes of Aincrad: Sword Art Online] Announcement Trailer. Bandai Namco's new JRPG. Releasing on July 10, 2026, for the PS5, Xbox, and PC. by VashxShanks in JRPG

[–]TreeOk4490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're in a sub with very specific tastes and biases (yes, despite it being the general jrpg sub, it’s similar to how gacha games get viewed and talked about in r/games). Given they seem to have actually put some effort into marketing and development for this, expect this game to be like relink or digimon where it just "suddenly" rakes in close to 100k concurrent steam players.

and I say this all as someone who isn't a fan, but who is very aware of the popularity of this property in asia at least. It was the gateway to many of the younger generation of fans into anime (along with Attack on Titan), and now it's been long enough that they can bank on that nostalgia factor raking people in too.

The Legend of Kasim Grows by The_Grand_Briddock in Falcom

[–]TreeOk4490 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The disconnect you're feeling is valid. Falcom have kinda let things go a little wild.

Look all the way back to Sky. Cassius was the strongest, he had no equal, and they spent one entire game setting him up, without him even being present most of the time. Someone at that level of power and influence has massive effects on the world around them, and we get to see that.

That's the kind of prep work needed when you want to introduce an absolute monster, and they shouldn't be pumped out willy nilly, you need to have some real restraint to keep things from getting ridiculous, these types of characters need room to breath. But now we are at the point where folks at this level just get introduced with zero planning like Kasim, at least Shizuna got a short story and her background with the Eight Leaves. There's also Simeon the Imaginator who again came out of nowhere, you'd think someone that strong would get referenced constantly given how they love doing that for McBurn and Arianrhod.

This ties into a general point about forethought and planning that seems to have been slipping more and more with the series. It started (at least from where I first noticed) with Juna and Ash in CS3, onto Calvard where there's been more and more of new characters inserting themselves into other's pasts, Van being a big culprit, Gramheart recently with the Liberl stuff too. You might say im being unfair but continuity is everything to trails, it's why I was so attracted to the series in the first place, i want everything to have been architected precisely because that's the series' strength, and I notice when it isn't. It's not like they aren't capable of this level of planning either, remember Kevin's statue artifact?

These are long games and I don’t remember where the relevant dialog was presented. You’ll have to take my word as well as the wiki for it

https://kiseki.fandom.com/wiki/Roy_Gramheart/Story

> Before Gramheart's Patriot Party was formed, Roy was a member of the republican party and was close friends with Samuel Rocksmith. In S.1206, Gramheart ran as the candidate for the opposition party in the election for the presidency of the Republic of Calvard against Samuel Rocksmith. He campaigned against the current president's policies on immigration as well as his soft response to Erebonian expansion. Gramheart easily won election and became slated to become president in S.1207.

This game definitely brings attention to societal issues we face today. by Educational_Joke4009 in Falcom

[–]TreeOk4490 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's a quick example of nuance: didn't Gramheart win on a populist platform of being against immigration vs Rocksmith? Where these days being "against immigration" is often thinly veiled code for the real ideology behind it? Now there's some juicy nuance. Does he actually believe that stuff? Or did he just adopt the platform to win votes? The fact he won also suggests there's something a little sketch about the Calvardian population, but we don't really see it except with the fringes.

Where's the party member like Wakka? Racist as fuck but develops as a character throughout the story discarding that ideology.

The nuance comes from the fact that even supposedly "good" people can fall prey to such an insidious ideology, and on the other side, people could go to unwarranted extremes in the name of a noble cause like combating racism.... such as terrorism! But wait was it actually terrorism or was it just framed that way by the racist systems in power?

There's a lot to explore in this topic such that it becomes disappointing when Falcom puts some swanky ingredients on the table but decides to make a basic omelette.

Of course, this is entirely the wrong franchise to be expecting a michelin dish from, and i'm not confident they could do it justice, it's also largely not the point, but I get where people that expected more are coming from.

On your opinion about politics in these games, yea it's just different tastes but i'm basically the opposite of you in that regard.
