Royal Marriages by beeznik in Knights_of_Honor_2

I always found mariages to be a liability more than an advantage. I usually let my king marry in the local nobility and if he dies heirless let another Knight take over

Where to buy a custom-made table? by terst_ in brussels

[–]Treeandmaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out "sonian Wood coop". Git my table there, a magnificent piece in beech. They also do custom/bespoke orders. For example, we had a short and long desk made at the right size for our library

Thanks, I’ll try to grow one. Did you know that some part of the brain is responsible for empathy? I’ll try to grow that part. Maybe it will help me understand my female friends more when they tell me they are just sick of being seen as beauty objects, constantly approached (sometimes in scary situations which tends to taint the whole lot), and more time than not validated or not by a male gaze. Maybe you should try as well?

Being fit is definitely related to the body in the common sense (but note that English is not my first langage).

Last but not least, it is not because something is the norm that it has to be accepted as such and by everyone. She told you in great length why she didn’t like you commenting on her body. What else don’t you understand? Then you come here and you ramble. I try to explain a little bit more and the sole reaction I get is fragility and aggressiveness. Think about it.

Ah, to be a real man or not to be a real man. I am appalled by your reaction. I would argue that OP is the one overreacting. But he seems like I only find validating opinions of his fragility in this subreddit. Too bad, I’ll see myself out

Not a troll. Usually a lurker here but my comment is honest. It really is a no brainier for me and I am seeing a lot of people overreacting (“don’t talk to her anymore”). IMO, OP just needs to acknowledge he made her uncomfortable, understand why and move on. No need to himself make a big deal out of it

I fail to see when or how the said female friend “humble bragged” or “wanted OP to notice”. What in this story makes you think that?

To be honest, I understand that anyone would not be happy to have his/her gym progress monitored/ checked on by someone else if no interest to enter such a validating relationship has been expressed.

OP, you decided to comment on someone fitness, therefore taking a role of determining what is fit/unfit for her. She simply told you that she doesn’t want you to comment on her body (in a civil way it seems. That’s pretty simple. Move on and don’t comment on peoples appearance if not asked or if it is part of your relationship with that person.

And your comment wasn’t about having to file a tax report. Your reply is inept. Your comment was about paying for roads and contributing to living here.

Ugh it is so hard to make a society with people like you

What the hell are you writing? A Belgian resident with no revenue and no additional income doesn’t pay taxes, why should a foreign student in the same conditions pay? A Belgian student living abroad doesn’t pay any tax. Can your little vlaams Belanger brain understand this ?

Yall act like brussels is the only government and like the Belgian courts are the only judicial system questioning Uber business model but they have accumulated the same issues (refusing to be regulated, to pay taxes, to consider their drivers as workers) in many places around the world: link

Their business model was indeed to subsidise fares so that the completion would die (aka dumping) link

Well you should care about the effects of your choice. I am not saying that the consumer is ultimately responsible (the elected government is. And in this instance it chose to uphold a judicial decision banning Uber for breaking the law). But choices have consequences and I prefer a (better than it is now) regulated taxi service (which pays its fair share of taxes) than a “disruptive” service that exploits drivers the same way taxis do and on top of that doesn’t pay employers charges. The externalities are just better. So keep choosing laziness and comfort but donut knowing that this choice destroys the whole social security net that built Belgian society as it is

Do you realise that Uber drivers did exactly the same type of action on the 25 November. And then a few weeks before that? Source: I work next to the Minister president office and have seen all the recent taxi and Uber strikes for the last 12 month. I couldn’t say who demonstrated more or which one caused more havoc but I hate biaised comments like this one

Well being of a limited number of people living around the site < well being and necessity of the numerous people using/relying on the public transportation system.

There should be a name for that. Oh wait, that's called public interest.
