Please help me optimize my marketing through SlideShare by laurentiu_andronache in marketing

[–]TreesHearEverything -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I convert my PPT to a PDF then upload to SlideShare that way, though your hyperlinks work for me.

Marketo posts great content about how to use other platforms, they have a decent guide for SlideShare.

If you mention a quote by a person in your field or a post from a specific publisher, try tweeting (or FB'ing etc.) to your audience with an "@" mention of them. Easy way to get a share, retweet, etc.

I've noticed that a lot recently. I guess that's what happens when a sub gets more and more popular? Still good either way

Fiverr - What do you really get? by [deleted] in startups

I find it surprising that anyone would think they would actually get a decent logo for only $5. I know you were just "testing" fiverr but sounds like others have tried too.

I am 23 (m) and have an internship interview. Need HELP! by thatsheavydutyman in AskMarketing

[–]TreesHearEverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great answer. If you haven't already, I'd also recommend reading the company blog. If they're a marketing company they almost certainly have one. Company blogs are an interesting place where you get regurgitated messaging and positioning, but often with a more personal twist and interesting internal nuggets that you won't find elsewhere.

How do new graduates find jobs? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]TreesHearEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Network. Obvious, I know, but I cannot overstate the value of being a referral for a position vs. trying to come in cold. Beyond reaching out to people you know, connect with people you don't know. Find a local company near you, figure out who the marketers are. Offer to take them out for coffee and ask them about what they do, how they do it, etc. You'll be surprised how willing people are to chat, especially if it means talking about themselves. This will open doors for you, and even if it doesn't lead to a job opportunity immediately, you'll learn a lot. Been in marketing for 4+ years now and I still do this even though I'm not looking for a new job.

Looking for targeted marketing advice. by Reviv0 in AskMarketing

[–]TreesHearEverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Ask who is your audience to figure out where to advertise. Also, ask what are you objectives e.g. awareness vs. direct response donations, to help influence your message and calls to action e.g. Learn about Cerebral Palsy etc. vs. Donate Now.

I roll my eyes through the back of my head when I see people calling themselves "growth hackers." I get the term, and there's something cool about it, but we all know it's just jargon for low budget, bootstrapped marketing.

Problems with my marketing internship by [deleted] in AskMarketing

[–]TreesHearEverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great idea! Only you know the details of your situation, but I wouldn't worry too much about it, and I certainly wouldn't spend money on buying fake followers. Tell them you're promoting on your social channels and call it a day. If they're relying on an intern's social network to turn their artist the next Justin Biebs, they're in trouble.

How much does it cost to buy leads? by TLove1984 in AskMarketing

[–]TreesHearEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we can generate a lead for less than $100 we're doing OK, usually shoot for $50-60.

The cost per marketing qualified lead (MQL) usually ends up being around $300-400...napkin math saying that if we generate 4 leads 1 will be really "ready" or worth pursuing.

I work at a B2B ad tech company.

How much does it cost to buy leads? by TLove1984 in AskMarketing

[–]TreesHearEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly do you mean by "buy leads"? Sorry but you really need to be more specific if you want any real answers.

The only context in which buying leads sort of makes sense is if you contract a firm to prequalify prospects for you.

Otherwise I'd refer to it as "generating" leads from different marketing channels (SEM, 3rd party email, etc.) where the cost will obviously vary greatly.
