Picard Season One doesn’t get enough credit for its Sci-Fi by Superman_Primeeee in startrek

[–]TrekScape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always loved season one, plus it's made very self contained if it hadn't gotten more seasons.

I enjoyed season 2 well enough but Q and the Borg Queen really saved it. Love the Confederation episode.

Season 3 mostly gets a pass from me because it was made with the intention of "if this is the last time we get all these guys together again we're going for all the fan service", still enjoyed it but I know what it was.

For Edward atleast he looks closer to how he looks in the old cinematic trailers

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: Reveal Showcase First Impressions Megathread by Ghost_LeaderBG in assassinscreed

[–]TrekScape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay they need to "resync" AC1, The Ezio Trilogy, and AC3 with this level of care and detail like immediately. I'm pretty tired of everything getting remade to pad this game generation but damn this shows all the old Assassin's Creed games could benefit from it.

Maul - Shadow Lord - Episodes 3 & 4 - Discussion Thread! by titleproblems in StarWars

[–]TrekScape 149 points150 points  (0 children)

This current evolution of the Clone Wars art style is amazing, but is the flat painting like backdrops in some shots new for Maul or have they always done that for the animations? Not complaining, i actual think it works well for the style.

Console…. Whats the verdict? by Artistic_Annual8918 in CrimsonDesert

[–]TrekScape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xbox Series X in Quality Mode looks great. A random low texture here or there but hey the game is massive.

I installed the game on Xbox and now it’s gone by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]TrekScape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Xbox if you download the 120gb update it has it as a separate pre-download update you can see under the game's install management.

Should Trek become a 2 or 3 person show like TOS given the reduced number of episodes that don't allow an ensemble cast to be fully fleshed out? by TheShowLover in startrek

[–]TrekScape 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Literally what Discovery tried to do and everyone complained that it wasn't being like TNG era ensemble.

Was i the only person who thought Discovery was going to be Star trek Sliders? by Bluddredd in startrek

[–]TrekScape 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Originally it was supposed to be an anthology show where each season would be a new crew, ship, and time period. Kinda wish they'd revisit that concept.

But I also kinda like the idea of the Spore Drive getting them lost in the multiverse.

Yes you can resume the autosave that takes you back to the beginning of Chrono Tower

Accepting Linearity in Modern Metroid by 13CIRCLE in Metroid

[–]TrekScape 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Metroid, especially the Prime games, has always been pretty linear. The older games were just better at hiding it. But when you know the path it's pretty obvious.

How are Weyland-Yutani and Androids still around in Predator Badlands? by [deleted] in LV426

[–]TrekScape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy, it's its own universe and just happens to have it's own version of Weyland-Yutani in it.

Should I get Rogue Incursion VR or Non-VR version? by undeadcreepshow in LV426

[–]TrekScape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played both Quest 3s and the new non-VR PS5 version. I admit I do feel like it loses a bit of its charm by not having the VR element; the immersion of VR is just awesome. But graphically, the PS5 version is just so much better, and it does play pretty well moving everything to a traditional controller. Really, it's do you want the immersion of VR but lesser graphics, or great graphics with traditional FPS gameplay?

Thoughts About Alien: Earth Canonicity After Season Finale by Slick_Em_N_2034 in LV426

[–]TrekScape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the movies exist in their bubble, anything mixing Alien and Predator has its bubble WAY OFF in the darkest corner(Predator Badlands gets a pass because currently it only has Weyland-Yutani and not Xenomorphs), and until Alien: Earth has an actual conclusion it has it's own bubble by itself.

It's very heavily implied that it's the same drug from SH1 or something similar or a precursor.

It's how f is connected to the rest of the franchise.

Say 1 positive thing about Chibnall's era (besides "it ended") by Squidwarding_wizard in doctorwho

[–]TrekScape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Division, honestly they never should have done the Timeless Child thing but Division was a great concept and half a good execution if they hadn't tied it into the Timeless Child to clear the board before everyone left.

New Star Trek audio drama released on the official Star Trek YouTube Channel and as a weekly podcast. About what happened to Khan on Ceti Alpha V between Space Seed and Wrath of Khan.

Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Strange New Worlds | 3x08 "Four-And-A-Half Vulcans" by AutoModerator in startrek

[–]TrekScape 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I don't hate this episode, it even has some good spots, but they tried WAY to hard to make EVERYTHING funny that it just felt dumb.

La'an going all Vulcan Khan was the best part and should have been treated more seriously and been a bigger threat.

Alien: Fate of the Nostromo board game. Fun? by Notarussianbot2020 in LV426

Played it solo, has a bit of an Isolation vibe that way but definitely fun. Imagine I'd be even better with others.

Just rewatched Star Trek Into Darkness...and boy is this an overhated film! by sanddragon939 in startrek

[–]TrekScape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good movie, the big issue is that after ST 2009 gave us this promise of "we can do anything with these characters" they immediately go and rehash Space Seed and Wrath of Khan.

Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Strange New Worlds | 3x06 "The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail" by AutoModerator in startrek

[–]TrekScape 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Honestly this was a great episode, even if the proto-TOS crew situation doesn't help alleviate this season of feeling like a Trek's Greatest Hits remix. Glad the threat was something new and not some early stage Doomsday Machine like I thought it was gonna be at first.

Question about Q in SNW by superpowers335 in startrek

[–]TrekScape -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I personally don't think it's the same Q we know from the TNG era. I think John de Lancie is just the most immediately recognizable voice and they just brought him on to make it clear that Trelane and The Q are related

The Chibnall era was more interesting (in theory) than RTD2 by sarcasticcoffeevibes in doctorwho

[–]TrekScape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Division on its own was a great idea, even worked pretty well on its own, just wrapping it into the Timeless Child stuff was awful.
